Sorry, was not aware of the issues with ice.. it is a love/hate relationship.@Artiemom - I can't deal with ice, or any kind of cold therapy. I'm a cold person to start with, and ice just gets way to intense for meI tend to think of ice for bringing down inflammation, and heat for relaxing tight muscles. A lot of my pain stems from muscles going into spasm (with the sciatic pain, muscles go into spasm, pull my spine or pelvis out, and being out of alignment is what causes the pressure on the sciatic nerve), so my instinct is that heat will do a better jobFor the kind of pain you had, ice was absolutely the way to go. Just my
Congratulations on the elliptical today. Those things are the work of the devil - seriously. Give me a treadmill .... actually pretty much any other cardio equipment ..... any day!
Be patient with your arm strength. It will come, but it will just take time. You're doing greatBe proud of that for now, and look how far you've come already
hno: That doesn't sound great JTBo Rest up and let it finish healing - hopefully it won't be TOO long now. Such a nasty injury though Sending you a ton of healingMy foot started leaking again yesterday evening, now it is thick red, maybe I have been sitting too much, I should just stay in bed I guess, but at least it is quite shallow wound now, should not take long until it has grown fully again.
We have had 48 to 52 degrees (9-12C) and constant rain for 2-3 days now, but it really does not bother me much, I can't go outside anyway with this foot.
I think so too, that is why I have stopped doing pretty much everything, so that wound would not break all the time, I still need to visit toilet and get water, but I'm down from ~20000 steps a day to 300-500 steps a day, however that seems not to be quite enough, sitting seem to stress that spot too so I have limited quite a bit of sitting time, lying on bed most of the time, I feel like being in coma most of the time :lol3:@JTbo
I once had a nasty, nasty wound on the bottom and side of the heel of my foot. I was on vacation the day it happened, actually, I was packing up to drive home. I had to be out of the cottage by a certain time.
I delayed getting medical treatment for it. It did not stop bleeding, even though I packed it really well, and stopped to change the dressing. Because it was 3 hours since the injury, stitches were not recommended because of the risk of infection; although in retrospect I found a doctor who would have taken a chance and given me a very strong antibiotic, just in case.
I had to wait until the entire thing healed completely. I mean completely. It took weeks, if not at least a month or 6-8 weeks. I discovered the wound has to heal from the inside to the outside. The outside takes longer to heal.
The more I tried to put weight on it, I was just breaking down what had healed internally.
I had to keep using crutches. It took a long time, and was very frustrating..
I am thinking that is what is happening to you. The red fluid is from the area not healed. The more you do with the foot, the more you are breaking down the area which wants to heal. You are destroying it by using your foot..
Sorry if I sound harsh, but I wanted you to know my experience.
