I've been watching them everyday!

Saturday night was extra exciting! Molly showed up with a rat and was teasing them with it. She sat on the perch and dangled/waved it in front of them and then flew down to the platform that Carlos put up and picked away at it periodically looking up at her squaking brood! Then after about 15 minutes she flew up and gave the now headless rat to them.

That was the first time she's done something like that. So it's being assumed that she's starting to try and entice the oldest out of the box.

But something tells me that it will take more than that to get Max out of that box!!!!

Max has also been looking out for his little brother/sister. He's been seen feeding her/him, and even holding down food while Wesley picks at it.

And it's also being assumed that Max is now looking like "Maxine".

Oh....and I saw Max swallow a whole headless bunny!!!

OMG...

I had not seen the owlets for 2 days.
Last time I looked they were still babies.
This morning they have their adult owl feathers.

It won't be long before they fly away.....

A link to gorgeous photos on Molly's blog.

It's 2:30am here...
I have been on owlets fledging watch.
One of the members in chat captured this first outside step for one of the owlets, not sure which one but it is happening.

try these:

Video of the first

video of the second

I love the way the other owl keeps peeking out to watch!

In the first one the video starts after Max is already out, the second adventure, he got the actual step out.

I too am getting more of a chuckle watching the owl inside checking out his sibling outside, so funny.

They sure are! I watched much more often when they were all little and under wing.

Looks like they are thinking about coming out again this morning, only one rodent has been brought so I guess the parents think it's time.
