Ask for a prescription of Albon for the kittens. Their poop is not normal looking and I don’t think it’s from wet food. These vets do not seem very knowledgeable about kittens.

Can you see a private practice vet who is not with a chain?

This one is a private practice, the other one is a chain which I never take them to. I googled albon and its not available in UK, must be sold under another name

The thing is the diarrhoea started as soon as they started solid food so naturally the vet thinks it's something to do with food.
I agree this vet was not good at all. He didn't seem to be interested. Saw them for 10 mins and handed me a bill for £200

It’s called Albendazole. Other similar meds are fenbendazole and metronidazole. Any of these can be used.

Thank you for this. I'll run it past my vet. Today I suggested if we should start some pedialyte but he gave me a look and said we shouldn't give too many remedies.
So for now I'm fully relying on you helpful people. I have few questions.
*Is it ok to give boiled chicken like the vet suggested to kittens that aren't even weaned or properly weaned?
*should I boil some chicken and give that that broth instead of chicken?
*should I give them some water in their bottle as they haven't started drinking from the bowl.
* should I continue giving kmr
I've noticed mum isn't feeding them a lot, may be 2-3 times a day. Also she's not cleaning their bottoms after they have had an accident.
Thank you

I think the kittens are too young for boiled chicken. Hold off on this.

Continue feeding KMR and their dry kitten chow and wet food.

Yes, give them Panacur in the correct dosages.

Clean their bottoms as needed.

Thank you for replying ❤ should I wait for tummy to settle before giving panacur?
Also because they are losing a lot of water should I give them the water that I boiled the chicken in? Not chicken just the water as they seem to love it

If the kittens like the chicken water, give it.

Go ahead and give the panacur. Hopefully it will help to clear their diarrhea.

Thank you so much. It really means a lot that you are taking out time to help.
Soooo all the kittens are much better now. I started their worming yesterday. Only one has slightly loose poo now and the rest are back to normal. They are eating Royal canin dry food, drinking mum's milk and I'm also supplementing.
My sister has agreed to adopt one of them and I'm so so happy. Ofcourse not right now but when they are 10 weeks old

6 weeks old today and very healthy. I remember how the runt was born so tiny and thanks to you all today he weighs the 2nd heaviest. I could never do it without this group and the helpful ppl here. Many thanks from myself and the kittens 😸

Can I get cookie spayed now or when the kittens get adopted? Also my best friend have decided to adopt the runt as she saw how I've spent day and night looking after him since they were born. So so happy

They are adorable!

Do check out anyone who might want a kitten, and please keep them with mom for 10-12 weeks.

Cookie can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.

Yup goes without saying. For now it's my sister and my best friend and they know I won't let them go before they are 3 months old.
I'll book cookie's spay ASAP thn
