I have a two year old kitty. & Just recently I decided to try a new cat food. Blue wilderness. & Everything was fine the first day or two. But on the third day, I noticed a change in his behaviors. He wasn't as active as he usually is. I couldn't put my finger on the issue but, I just paid close...
Alright, so, I'm having an issue with my 5 month old baby. I can't seem to pinpoint the problem. He's eating, drinking, & using the bathroom normally. He doesn't seem to bee running a fever & his gums are not pale. He's not coughing or vomiting & eyes are clear, he's not even sneezing.
But...
So, I have a 3 month old kitten named fatman. I noticed he was starting to lose a bit of weight. (He eats & drinks normally). Anyways, I had another litter WAY before this & one of the babies was pretty small. So, I talked my then vet (he passed away very unexpectedly) & he suggested feed the...
I originally thought it was a pinched nerve or a pulled muscle. Cause he was limiting his jumping, but wasnt showing any sign of discomfort. Now, he just lays on the floor. & that's about it. I mean, he's still eating & drinking. & he still potties normally. But, right now he's different.
I went to see my vet on 7/6/16. My kitten was experiencing some problems with walking & a hunched back. The vet took X-rays determined it was narrowed discs in his back. He gave him a cortisone injection, & prednisolone & sent us on our way. He told us if it looks like it's getting worse or he's...
He's not on them long term. They can cause serious medical conditions in cats. He's only on them for 3 weeks. I'm only on day one of the meds, but, I didn't see much of a change when they gave him the cortisone shot. I wasn't expecting a 100 percent turn around, but, I was expecting something.
Okay, so, it's a steriod. It's called "prednisolone" 5mg. The instructions are long. Haha. But, I have to give him 1/4 tab orally every 12 hours for 5 days. Then, 1/4 tab every 24 hours for 5 days. & finally, 1/4 tab every 48 hours.
He's taken them just fine, they're so tiny he doesn't even...
They did do X-rays. The doctor felt along his spine for any pain area. He nearly jumped out of his skin when the doc found it. He was going to do blood work to make sure his muscles were fine. But, decided it wasn't necessary when he felt the problem.
Sorry I'm just getting back. So, I called the vet & explained his situation. They told me to wait until the weekend to see any improvement if not bring him in. I waited until wednesday, it was the only day I could get him in.
Apparently, he has narrow disc's in his back. Even the doctor said...
I'm completely head over heels for tabbies. (:
I can tell there is something a little off with the way he's been acting when the cramp happens. I know it's hard to describe, but, he does usually stretch & such when he lays down. I've been keeping an eye out. I try to rub out the cramp when it...
