-2 at my house at 6:15 this morning. Windy. Cold. Let the truck run for 10 min before I took off. Took another 10 min to get full hot heat (cast iron block) but once she's warm-you don't need a ton of heat. I got my face protector out and it wasn't too bad at work. I used to wear these thin shell pants over my jeans because my legs would get so very cold. Now that I don't take certain meds anymore I find I don't feel as cold anymore. I heard we are getting snow tomorrow. I am working until 12 then to my house to pick up Jon then drive back to my sisters. Supposed to be at her place at 3. I still have to wrap and buy more gifts. So cold. I gassed up the truck Wed night so I wouldn't be in the cold yesterday. hopefully won't need gas until Sun or mon. They are calling for 6" again then it's going to rain. so if it's icy out I will not go. I hate freezing rain. Some of the gifts didn't come in the mail yet anyways so we may hold off until Mon after work. Fun fun!

We have our winter too, here in Israel. It's pouring rain outside. Nothing as dramatic as some places in the US or Australia, or even Europe. People complain about the weather here too, same as everywhere else in the world, but honestly, it's mild and pleasant. Around 15C or in the high fifties for those of you in the US. I have a friend who moved from Israel to Chicago this year and he keeps providing descriptions of their weather in my Facebook feed, making everyone feel warm over here
I hope he bought a good pair of waterproof boots since we are expecting another snow storm here in Chicago tonight into tomorrow, then frigid temps on Sunday with wind chills well below 0.

Boy, after looking at the weather news, I see we're in a little bubble of mild weather here.  Just to the north of us, they got 6 inches of rain yesterday and to the south they're expecting several inches, with 40 mph winds.  After the big fires we had this summer, the rain is causing mudslides and several miles of Highway 1 is closed due to slides and boulders in the road.

Well, this happened in my area recently. A comcast repairman parked his truck in the middle of the road (the roads are very icy right now) just over the top of a hill. Drivers at the base of the hill could not see him and were sliding off the road in attempt to avoid hitting his truck. Yet he STILL REFUSED to put more cones down at the base of the hill or move his truck off the road.
Holy Moses! That was some video.

We are at 9 degrees F this morning. The wind, however, has died down a bit. Still cold out there!
Pam, we have the exact same temp. Yesterday was 22 degrees and much worse than today with the windchill. Tomorrow I will not go out walking if the predicted freezing rain happens. I can handle the predicted snow, but not that.

The news guy just said that it's -16 in Aberdeen :cold:. It's about zero here. Saturday night it's supposed to get down to -22 here, I hate to think how cold it'll be up north!
LOL. South Dakota is far enough north for me!

It's 38 this morning according to the Weather Channel and no more than 49 later today. Hey, this is SoCal - what the heck happened? It's 6 a.m. and I feel like going back to bed and stay there just to stay warm. I've turned on the heat, my bill is going to be humongous.

We're having freezing rain and roads are dangerously icy.  It's 32 F and expected to creep up to 35 F.   This is the kind of weather that has landed me on my poor rear end more than once.

I wish we could have that kind of ice next week, it would make perfect weather for bicycling, forecast is promising with around freezing / bit over and high winds, but hopefully no new snow spoils it.

This desire might have something to do with Extreme 294 and SW300 tires on my bike, only problem is to get on and off the bike when it's really icy:

We got about 6 inches of snow and it's currently -1 raw temp :cold:. It's not supposed to get any warmer during the day and will start dropping when the sun goes down. It's supposed to bottom out at -26! And tomorrow won't get above zero. But after that it's supposed to "warm up", back to the 20s. I can live with that. For today, though, I think I'm just going to bundle up on the couch and watch Star Trek. Stupid cold coldlyness :D.

It's 38 and supposed to go up to 46 so snow is melting.  We didn't get too much, just a good covering last week.  The next two days it is supposed to be in the twenties during the day and single digits at night.  After that it is supposed to be in the 30's during the day and  20's at night for the rest of the forecast which is until the end of next week, that is pretty normal for this time of year.  We only had one bitter cold day so far the day after it snowed.  It got down to 0 at night and the high the following day was 13

It is currently -19! I wonder if we'll hit the record of -26 or not. It's supposed to start warming up around 10 tomorrow morning. I hope all the ferals and other animals stay warm :cold:. I know they have cozy plqces to go but when it gets this cold I worry.
