Rick and his sister will be cleaning up at the house today. While he's gone....
  • My Pane Siciliano loaves proofed overnight in the fridge; I think they could go another 30 minutes or so at room temp before I bake them.
  • Working on laundry; will change the bed sheets and wash them, too.
  • A quick vacuum and dusting throughout the house, wipe down the kitchen and bathroom.
  • We have to run his truck into the garage tonight for state inspection tomorrow.
  • My nails are in absolutely horrible shape. I've been gnawing on them and I need to do a good manicure with what's left or I soon won't have any nails left at all. That's on my agenda for tonight.
  • Work on coupons and a grocery list for tomorrow night's grocery shopping.

  • Well, I was wrong about the truck; we're dropping it off at the garage this afternoon on our way home from work and it gets inspected on Tuesday.
  • Grab a few groceries tonight, mainly cat stuff
  • Try to stay awake long enough to watch the season finale of The X Files (there are "rumors" of more episodes coming next season!
    )

Rick brought me into work this morning because we'll have to pick the truck up on the way home. Didn't make sense to drive both the Tucson and the Cruiser to work, go home this afternoon, then drive back in to town. So I'm here at work bright and early.
  • Gave the kids their breakfast, cleaned the kitchen, dosed Miss Pop with Composure (she gets it twice a day; Muffin only gets it once), scooped the boxes, made the bed, and got ready for work. (No treadmill this morning; there was no time.)
  • Pick Rick's truck up at the garage on the way home from work
  • Dose both girls with Composure tonight and scoop the boxes again.
  • A quick vacuum about the house.
And I think that will be it for the night.

Getting anywhere from 2-12 inches of snow today so need to do some stuff with that in mind this morning.

- Clean all the litter boxes
- Throw out the litter into the trash outside
- Put some windshield wiper fluid in the little reservoir
- Possibly make one more run to the store if needed

That is a Huge Range!
for the lower amount for you.....

With a forecast that variable, the grocery stores will be mobbed!

There is a weird forecast here also. Seems as if they just cannot get it right this year.

Supposed to have ice, freezing rain this morning...guess what? It is light rain out there now!

Torrential rains with gale force winds predicted for tonight and tomorrow morning.. I have to go to a new accountant for my taxes tomorrow morning! So we will see....

If it stays on the path that it seems to be on, we'll get less snow. If it moves just a tad bit to the northwest, we'll get slammed. Then there's the lovely lake effect that is very unpredictable.

It turned out to be "the big storm that wasn't" for us. I wouldn't even say we got a dusting, as it was either melting or blowing away after hitting the ground. Driving in it wasn't even that bad, though the further south I got, it got a bit more brutal. Southern Cook got hit pretty bad and NW Indiana got clobbered. The wind though, omg, watching a truck being pushed over to the side many times is something I'd like to not see again. And my itty bitty car was really pushed around too!

So three things...

- Remind myself why I don't go out on school nights usually
- Scoop litter
- Have more coffee

We had rain, thunderstorms and wind. Our driveway is rutted from the water; it just poured. Last night we had the thunderstorms; they rumbled through earlier in the evening and then we had one come through around 12:30 this morning. Lots of rain overnight and we're in a flash flood warning area.

I have nothing planned for tonight. Rick is bowling early and after the kitchen is cleaned up from supper, I plan on shutting Mollipop in the bedroom for a while and opening the bathroom door for Muffin to come out. I'll sprawl out on the hallway floor with her and read my Nook. And we'll play with Tabby and Da Bird. Then she'll get her snack and go back into the bathroom. I'll let Molli back out of the bedroom and we'll do Da Bird with Tabby again for a while. Tabby really lucks out because she gets extra time with Da Bird.

Take The Beast out to pee and I'm going to bed....I'm hoping for a fairly early night.

Go for a morning walk in the nearby park.

Meet and stroke the friendly neighborhood cats frequenting there.

Give them some treats.

today should be a relatively easy day here, though not really enough sleep for me last night.

-make us all our breakfasts, kitties get their lysine, and our jaspurr and punkin get their pepcid

-brush the cats teeth -- we just started doing that a few days ago, and that's going very well...but they all love the poultry flavor CET toothpaste, so that has helped

-wash the dishes, scoop the littler boxes, take out the trash, and bring in the newspaper

-place a small chewy order -- the girls are really preferring the raw food, but i've got the relatively large raw food order planned for the beginning of march so we'll make do with the last 2 containers of rad cat and the stella & chewy's freeze dried raw for now (along with the canned cat food)

other than that, i plan on watching some tv shows (haven't found the time for that in several days), read a little, and hopefully play some computer games.

no reading, tv shows, or computer games yesterday. but i have hopes for doing that this evening...we'll see.

already done today...

everyone's had their meals, lysine and pepcid

dishes were washed, litter boxes scooped, trash taken out, and newspapers brought in

wood stove is getting wood added as needed

made a loaf of bread in the bread machine

sliced the loaf of banana bread

still to do...

work on next month's shopping list

start my 'to do' list for my next 'busy' day

Went to one of those med express places, found out my cough was a little more serious than I'd thought.

Going to start tons of meds today (lol seems it).

Going to take things very very easy. Kind of the "anti three things list" but whatever it takes.

PS. What the heck is going around? I never get respiratory infections, much less this bronchitis/ pneumonia (has to be pneumonia since the inflammation shows up in my lungs, right?). My sister 3 states away has it...half my coworkers have this bronchitis/respiratory thing going on. So be careful!!

I hope you feel better soon, misterwhiskers.

MickNsnicks2mom, how is your mother doing? If she's doing rehab, she must be doing pretty well!
  • Got up and gave the kids their breakfast and got things cleaned up. Rick took The Beast out for her first pee of the day and he and Jackie are taking a nap now. Muffin is back here in the computer room with me, while Mollipop is hanging out in the bedroom with Rick and Jackie. Actually, Muffin and Tabby are play-fighting in the hallway. With Muffin being shut up in the bathroom, I think those two miss each other. We have to dose the girls with Composure; Molli twice today and Muffin once. I think the Composure is helping Muffin; I do not think it's helping Molli in the slightest.
  • Vacuum and dust a bit today. One thing I noticed is that the black light shows dust in places, so I guess I'm not doing a very good job vacuuming! Maybe I need to Swiffer more on the floors and vacuum less in the bedroom.
  • Run some errands this morning: banking, PetSmart, Staples, etc. I bought a couple boxes of Girl Scout cookies, but forgot to bring them home. Rick was not amused, so while we're in town, we can stop in at work to pick up the cookies. While we're doing the banking,  we can take The Beast for a good walk on the Trail this morning,,,,it shouldn't be icy with the temps we've been having, even though it got colder again the past couple of days. When I was out walking at lunch, I took a good look at the Trail and it seems to be clearing off nicely. (The Trail is not cleaned off during snow/ice storms and I won't walk Jackie out on the ice and snow.)
  • Time to feed the sourdough starter, so I need to figure out something to make with the discarded starter. Those English muffins were a huge hit, so I'm thinking about making more muffins this weekend, maybe with some blueberries. But I'm also thinking about trying sourdough hamburger rolls. Or just throw together a baguette. Anything so I don't have to throw starter away.
  • Work on grocery list, coupons, and menus for this coming week.
And I think that will be it for our Saturday. I know Rick is going to be working on the basement on the baseboard for the bedroom (yes, the bedroom is still a work-in-progress).

My neighbors both came down with pneumonia..2 sisters...

There is a lot of it going around.

When it gets to a point of bronchitis.. I do not think they can completely rule out pneumonia..I know my doctor always says bronchitis.. and sinus infection, never pneumonia...but it feel like pneumonia...

Please take it easy...rest, and fluids are the best thing for you..and a huge cuddle from kitties...Sleep is very important in getting better..stay home, try to forget about work....it will be there when you feel better...
