If the kittens are nursing frequently and well, there is no need to supplement. Kittens will almost never take a bottle when they have mom around. Are they nursing well? It sounded like it from your earlier posts.

You can try one of those triangle make up pads, soak it with the milk and let him suckle

You can look up on YouTube how it's done. I can't attach the link

The bottle will not feel like mommy. I have found by holding the bottle close to your palm so the kittens can use their paws on your palm to think they are drinking from the mommy. The syringe trickle down the side of the mouth. How is Molly and the babies tummies. You need to balance the feedings as to not over feed the tummy if the belly feel firm then wait as you don't want to burst their tummies.

Kittens nursing great just wanted to take the weight off of molly. Mollys had a very rough day to the point the vet thought she was going. But to everyone's relief molly has been down eating and drinking and happy to be around everyone . Kittens are doing great and she's back to her old self . Very pleased and thankful. I know she's not out the woods yet but she's like a different cat to how she was earlier today. Keeping up with fluids and food and monitoring . Thank you all so much for your help xx

I am so sad to hear about Star. He's in a better place
However, I'm glad to hear that Molly is doing better. I will continue to pray for you, Molly and the newest additions to your family.

great news about Molly. The first 36 hours until the milk comes in and the mommy gets over the afterbirth out of her system is critical as the babies need milk and putting the kittens to the teat helps start the milk.

it looks as there is a good improvement as it is only a few hours it is hard to tell but seems good the figure indicated on page 4 "Very small born kittens shall gain 6+ grammes a day, normal big newborns shall gain 10+  a day." Weigh them again in the morning and see where they are. you might keep a sheet to check over the next couple of days

Has molly been drinking water on her own? If so you can wean her off the extra pedilite. If you notice that she stops drinking the you might have to start again. I believe in an earlier message it was indicated how much Molly sould be drinking on a regular basis and if she is not then start rehydration again.

How often do I give her it pls and how much
Lets try to count the total need of water:  the kittens shall have at least 8ml/oz  a day.   So at this moment they get  at least 24 ml apiece.  say 100 ml alltogether.

The mom needs as minimum 70 ml/ kg a day.  Lets say she is 4kg, gives about 300 ml a day -  alike two coffe cups.

So the absolute minimum will be 400 ml  a day. [300 for her body funktions +100 for them kittens]    As you see, I have every time rounded upwards, but she is after all lactacing and does needs more than an average neutered male.

Some of the water she gets with food.   In wet food there is quite much water. In dry food almost none.

Also, if she gets a little too much water and nutrising fluids doesnt matter, she will just pee it out.   Its the too little which is dangerous.  Dehydration is never good.

So, you may count for yourself...   If she isnt eating lotsa of food containing much water, you must safeguard she gets fluids another way, even if it would meant forcefeeding.
Is she eating dry food or moist? I hope this helps. you might add to your page a list of how much water Molly is drinking.

I'm worried about the salt and sugar going into her with the kittens . I've been using
2 cups bottled mineral water
5 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Boiled cooled and given

Normally I have found that when they fight something then they have had enough for the moment. you might have to space the feedings apart enough so she does not fight. Check how much she is drinking on her own. Keep in mind that what goes in has to come out so make sure she is peeing. the estimate that Stefan gave was "the absolute minimum will be 400 ml  a day" she should elimanate a portion of the too Keep in mind that if she drinks 100 ml and pees 100 she is still dehydrated. she has to keep in more than she is peeing out. Also she is cleaning up after the kittens so that might upset her stomach though most of that will be fluid.

If her food is wet food, normally she wouldnt need much extra.  Here she needs extra as she is lactacing, but if she ates wet food, drinks on her own, AND gets extra with syringe,  I do hope now its OK, and her emptied reserves are now OK fully again.

So, be sure she gets full dosage of water, but now you can downgrade the forcefeeding as if the kittens still gains as they should. - the thriving and gain of kittens is indirectly an indicium on her health, no?   :).

We can perhaps even downgrade now the yellow alert into just being watchful and observant.   :)

Mineral water contains enough with different salts - that is the  point of using minerale water, you get both different salts "electrolytes", and fully sufficient amount..

So you dont need to add any extra kitchen salt.   - That may even be why she protested - it got salty.   :)

With surgar I suppose you mean common kitchen sugar.  While its OK, and many receipts accept this, its much better to use glucose sugar.   If you dont have glucose sugar, so white caro syrup or even honey, is better.   Easier to absorb for the body, doesnt need to be digested, as glucose goes directly into blood already in the mouth, and also from the stomach.
