I have a couple of questions now. @LDG you might want to advise me on this. I appreciate everyone's help!
I haven't received the Nexabiotic or slippery elm bark powder yet, but wanted to ask, the nexabiotic is not 15 billion bcu but 30.
So I imagine the dose will be a half capsule?
When I start giving her these 2 supplements, do I start off slower and gradually increase up to the daily dose?
Yesterday while working adoptions at Petco, I had a lengthy conversation with a Nature's Variety Instinct rep. She pointed out that while they don't have canned rabbit in an only rabbit formula, maybe I can go with lamb, as they do have a lamb only canned.
She gave me an entire box of sample packs of dry lamb limited ingredient Instinct, and a couple of the small cans to try her out with.
If she will eat the canned lamb then I can go with that.
(although Krissy has been on the BB basics turkey and potato limited for a month now, no vomiting seen in quite a while, etc so I worry about switching her up)
The thing is, I can't tell if she is excessively licking and chewing due to the turkey because there are fleas in my backyard, so I have been treating her more often then what is normal treatment monthly, to try to get control over her excessive grooming. I flea comb her daily, then as soon as she goes outside for sunbathing, and a roll in the grass she is back to having fleas again.
(I plan to hit home depot today for some kind of yard spray)
Krissy has been overgrooming for a good year and a half at least now. Which was another indicator of an allergy to chicken.
But now I can't tell, is it the flea irritation or turkey?.......
She has always been very sensitive to fleas, so I have treated her every 3-4 weeks her entire life. NOT crazy about doing that either but no choice, one flea makes her bonkers.
So my question is, how do I give her the canned lamb if I have to feed it to her gradually?
