Yay! This is good. I'm concerned he's getting pushed off the nipples, so keep an eye on him. Weigh him every 12 hours for a couple of days, and supplement him every 2 hours during the time you are awake for now. Hoping he catches up and won't need it soon. [emoji]128522[/emoji]
Just went back in there and he's got momma all to himself! Think I'm gonna skip this feeding and just let him nurse, but I'll set an alarm for 4:30am so that he doesn't miss out on too much!
Okay I'm not really sure what to do. I know he needs to be supplemented but every single time I go to get him he's nursing! And I don't want to take him right after because I figure he wouldn't be hungry. Should I take him off the. Nipple? That seems counter productive
I haven't weighed the rest because Spooks gets mad if I mess with them too much, but our little dude is now 195 and has gained 13 grams! Once she leaves the nest I'll put her in the living room and weigh the rest to compare but I think he's back on track. I've stopped supplementing and instead just begun helping him find a nipple whenever he looks; I'm monitoring their feedings more and he doesn't seem to get pushed off or anything
If he's nursing mom and gaining weight then you can hold off supplementing. Let's hope this trend continues. For whatever reason he got off track and your help fixed him up! [emoji]128077[/emoji]
Uh oh we have another one losing weight! I'm not sure what's wrong! I don't know if they just out compete or if she's not producing enough milk [emoji]9785[/emoji]️ Also about the breathing I mentioned in previous posts; when should I be concerned? One has begun doing it more frequently, and for longer periods of time. I can take him to the vet if necessary because on weekends I have a ride. Should I continue to supplement the little one? And should I begin to supplement the one who lost weight?
