I suppose that sometimes we never know what made our sweetie pies ill.
The main thing is that Maisie and her foal recover & come home to you and Tartine.

I agree with Susan...
try a PM to MA.

More vibes on the way Jenny.

Sorry to hear that Maisie won't be home for Christmas
I know she'll do well staying with the vets for a few more days to make sure that she's well enough to come home!

I know she'll enjoy your visits too

Her fever has gone this morning, and she is eating well and enjoyed her first apple for a week (she wasn't allowed them before as they are too acidic). So I hope to get her home on Tuesday. Thank you all for your thoughts.

Good that her fever is gone Jenny, and I KNOW she was glad to get an apple again. She'll be home in no time.

Yes, Tartine (her 6 month old foal) is fine and at home, though a little lonely. The unborn one is also OK so far - I saw it on the ultrasound in the hospital. We were all afraid for it, as the vets said she might lose it, but I think it is going to be all right. It has been a bad year, I can't remember a worse for me and my animals, but I can only hope 2007 will be better.

So glad to hear that the improvement continues.
And so do the vibes, until your girl is all well.

I went and fetched her at lunchtime today as it was the only time my friend witht he horsebox was free. She is happily tucked up in the old cattle byre, which I have lined with wood shaving and hay, and she seems happy and is eating. Tartine can see her from the field and get quite close to her, and she has been doing happy dances all afternoon - running up to the fence and whinnying, then racing round the field. I have to keep Maisie in the box for a week though, and I have a long list of medicines to give her night and morning, so they cannot be together yet. It is so cold here now, below freezing and the water bowls were frozen this morning, so I hope they will both be warm enough. I have a blanket for Maisie but she keeps trying to throw it off! She has never had anything like that.

I persuaded her to stop fighting the rug - she is looking very warm with it on now. It is well below freezing outside, so she needs it, especially since they shaved her tummy and also she is recovering from a fever.

I think after all this, your little pony should be getting the idea that some folks are very pleasant to interact with, and bring treats, warmth and caring to her
