It sounds ok to me Candie?!. Since i started feeding Rosie and Sophie like the vet advised, i can tell Rosie's lost a little by her collar, so i must get her on the scales again to check

I think that's fine.. I mean, it is a lot for a cat, but like humans, the first few pounds will melt away and then he'll normalize, Also it's been about a month since you weighed him, yeah? that's not too bad.

Denise, it's been over a month and he's lost 1 1/2 pounds since then.

then that's a healthy weight loss.. I would tend to say no more than 1 lb/month is the healthiest weightloss speed since it's about 1 lb a week in humans.. We wanna see how slim he looks!

I can tell a difference, but others don't see it. They still say he is a fat a$$

No one picks him up except me, which he hates, but I can tell a huge difference. He is more rowdy too! He gallops along the long hallway and plays A LOT. I'll post a pic when I find my camera, we are on a search for it now since our vacation is only a week away now!

My tips -

*feed the dog inside
*if you have other cats, feed them seperately. one example could be feed your smaller cat inside and the big one outside. obviously dont let the big one near the other bowl. keeping it inside means you can keep an eye on it.
*under no circumstances feed him more than once a day. sounds cruel? it will be to start off for a cat who is used to eating as much as he is however, no matter what anyone else says, that cat will not starve, he is huge.

you have to be cruel to be kind sometimes.

And sometimes we need to keep opinions to ourselves unless well educated.

As we have seen in other posts, crash dieting for kitties is terribly dangerous. Also, she is making the neccesarry changes as recommended by her vet!
