Yes, its normal. If the owner isnt there looking on, he often doesnt notice if there was an afterbirth - which shows how quick they are with eating it... They dont want to leave traces. Also, therie is quite some nourishment, and probably also useful hormones.
She is eating the afterbirth before she cuts the cord? This normal?
Okay. Is the afterbirth attached to anything? If she has another I want to be able to grab it without hurting her or the baby
Its not attached to her, but may be attached to the baby. So try to stop her from eating the placenta, but wait till she has chewed off the cord. Yeah, it may be touchy sometimes.
I do not believe so....StefanZ will answer better than I---in humans if it has been expelled, it is not connected to anything.
As said, you can probalby wait awhile with cutting off the cord. If necessary, you cut off as discussed earlier.
Not number 5 just the after birth from number 4. She decided not to eat that or cut the cord, but she is exhausted!
