Glad she is doing well, and hopefully she WILL be able to come home tomorrow.

She was doing really good when we saw her last night, and we had her purring.  They let us visit for around 30 minutes, and she pretty much purred the entire time (we took turns petting her and talking to her).  She actually got up at one point, stretched (arched her back) and yawned.  They said she must have been feeling pretty good if she could do that.

DH spoke with them about an hour ago and they said she was doing great and had even eaten a little bit of kibble!  They're planning on weaning her off the drip and if everything goes well, she can come home some time tomorrow

Poor Swanie misses her, he's been moping around.
Hope all well for tomorrow and that Swanie doesn't go from moping to moody when she comes home smelling of vet.

One good thing is that Swanie doesn't seem to associate the smell from this place with vet, probably because he's never been there.  When she comes back from our regular vet, he will be fussed up for a few minutes, but he's okay with this one.  In any case, they will be separated for awhile, at least until we know how he will react.

I'm a dummy, I thought there was a possibility she could go home with you yesterday.

But she sounds like she's doing so well!
No, they have to monitor for awhile, and they have her on a pain drip.  They said if her blood work comes back good today, they'll wean her off it and she should be able to come home tomorrow.  DH said she was relaxed in a curl when he visited her at noon, and mostly wanted to sleep.  We'll be heading out there in a half hour to see.  They told him he could take pictures, so he's taking the camera.

Oh - and she's eaten some food!

I really like this hospital - they're pricey, but they're worth it.  They have some of the best surgeons, oncologists, internal medicine specialists around working there. My vet takes her pets there when they have serious issues and says they trust them completely, and from what I've seen of them, so do I.

I'm so glad to hear that everything went well...you had a lot of ppl praying for you. But I'm sure she's doing so good due to her fantastic surgeon & loving mommy & daddy! Cindy sounds like a very tough & brave kitty. Keep on w/ the updates. Good luck in the recovery!

Thank you everyone for the vibes and prayers -I do sincerely believe in their power.

Cindy is home! We got her a little bit ago.  We had only gone a few blocks when she had diarrhea all over her carrier, so we turned around and went back.  The nurse said it was probably because she had been too stressed while she was there and it all just came out of her.  Said she wasn't worried about, but if she still has diarrhea in a day or two to call them  We have her in the bedroom, DH is sitting with  her right now.  We let Swanie say hi, but he's banished for awhile.

Now, we just have to wait for the results of the biopsies.

She will be so relieved to be back in her own home with her mom and dad to pamper her.  Hope she settles and no dramas for the week so you can all enjoy being together. Will keep up the vibes until you know how everything has gone.

Right now she's relaxing on her micro blanket on the bed next to me. DH and I are taking turns hanging out in here with her (with door closed).  She's on the pain med which hopefully relaxes her.  I thought she might want to keep her distance from me, since she usually equates me with getting taken to the vet, but she actually got up off of one micro blanket, came over to me, rubbed on me, and stretched out on the micro blanket next to me. She's eaten quite a bit since she got home too.

Thank you, that is so nice.  She's such a little sweetheart, and she's unbelievably resilient.  I'm on pins and needles waiting for the biopsy results.

I will give her a little extra smooch tonight and tell her it is from you

Biopsy results are in:  NO CANCER!!!!

No IBD either.

Internal Medicine vet wants to monitor her weight over a few weeks, and then we'll decide where to go from there.  We have an appointment with her (and to get Cindy's stitches out) Sept. 5.

Meanwhile, I am going to have the best 3 day weekend ever!  And DH and I are going out to tell our regular vet and celebrate with a Jersey Mike's sub.

Thank you all so much for your continued support / vibes / prayers.  I have no doubt that they played a huge part in this good news, not to mention you all have helped me so much throughout this whole deal with Cindy, starting last November

That is such fantastic news!
You enjoy your celebrations, and enjoy giving loads and loads of hugs to Cindy and Swanie.

Hope all good on the 5th for her stitches and that you see her putting on a little weight.

Aw that is absolutely fantastic! Honestly though, I had a strong feeling that everything was going to be alright. Now you can smother her w/ kisses for many years to come. Suzi will be in my heart forever...I've never heard of such a struggle when it comes to a kitty. She's the toughest cat I've ever heard of, even tougher than my Bebe...& she's pretty darn tough! I wish you good luck in your family's future. Please come back & update us on whether lil Suzi gains anymore weight.[emoji]128139[/emoji]

Minor Cindy update.  We took her to the vet yesterday to have her stitches removed.  Vet said the incision has healed nicely and she looks good.  Vet said that even though Cindy's blood test for thyroid came back okay, apparently problems don't show in in 10% of the cats who have thyroid issues.  So, she wanted to know if we wanted to have another test would could tell us if Cindy's one of the 10%.  It is pricey - but of course we had it done.  Something called T4 (free) Equilibrium Dialysis, T4 T495.  We should have the results Monday.  If that doesn't turn anything up, I guess the next step is to check her pancreas.
