Definitely contractions just not sure how long they can last for before birth

Does anyone know if I have to keep an eye out on the Times between the birth or is it just if she is contracting and there's nothing that I should worry about?

Second one out it's taken an hour and a half but at least she got to have a short rest. I think the first one was a big one. I did buy scales but obviously want to wait until she's done

Hi whilst cookie was eating, I weighed the kittens but not sure what the average is:

Black 120g
Black and white 115g
Tabby 119g

Do you recommend weighing daily? Obviously don't want to handle them unless necessary.

Thanks 😁

Good weights. Do weigh them daily if mom will let you. Perhaps, if it looks like they're not thriving, weigh them more often. Kittens can go downhill really fast if something's not right.

Thank you. I was hoping she'd move the kittens but she's still on my bed and isn't interested in moving them anytime soon or at all. Just more worried in case they fall off but don't want to move them in case she picks them up and puts them straight back on again.

Excellent birth weights! She may let you move them in a couple of days when she’s less tired and more relaxed.

New cat moms can be pretty stubborn once they've picked the spot, but it won't hurt to try to move them to a safer place than the middle of the bed once it won't be as stressful for her. Mom won't have any trouble moving them back if she decides to. You could make it easier if you'll put some kind of a step for her by the bed--a box, perhaps?

So all is going well. I've weighed them this morning whilst mama was eating so it's not quite 24 hours.

Black 120g to 133g - 13g
Black and white 115g to 128g - 13g
Tabby 119g to 130g - 11g

Am I right in thinking that it should be about 10g a day?
