She can be given worm meds, just make sure what you give is safe for pregnant moms. Babies do not go to the vet for worming or shots until they are 8 weeks old, unless there is a problem. Ask your vet what worm meds are safe. Ask us as many questions as you want! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I was just sitting watching Lil Bit sleep. From time to time you can see a kitten punch her and her belly will jump. It almost makes me miss being pregnant, Almost.

I talked to the vet already and they have an injection to give her that is an all wormer. I also want to get her checked over and get questions answered. Numbers to call if there is a problem and hopefully an estimate on how many may be in there.

Is there any questions I need to specifically ask the vet? Anything I need to have them look for?

I am so excited. I was at a meeting today at the school for my son. While there I was talking to the principal of the school and told her that Lil Bit was pregnant. She was excited and wants one. Apparently her cat passed away a few months ago. She came home from work and she had passed. She was only three. I am comfortable with her having one because in her office she had a framed picture of her cat right beside her kids. I told her as soon as Lil Bit has the kittens I will send her a email with pictures. Even with this they wont leave Mom until they are 10 to 12 weeks old to make sure they are taught manners.

An excellent new owner-candidate!  You can even try to talk her into taking two, for the same adoption-donation - having two is often easier than having one.

She is getting to where she isn't cleaning her self well down there. I am seeing crusties on her but area. Should I help her out if she allows it. She has always been perfect with cleaning down there.

I hadn't seen Lil Bit in an hour or so and I went looking for her. She was sleeping in one of her nests I made her.

I have sit here for the last 30 minutes with my hand on Lil Bit's belly feeling the kittens move. I am so excited I need to start getting things cleaned out so she will be coming.

I am afraid she is getting sick. She is coughing and crouching down. I don't know if she has a hairball or getting a URI. I called the vet today and they can't get her in until Sunday. She doesn't have any other symptoms of URI but I am worried.

If her nose and eyes aren't runny and she is still eating normally, then it is likely just a hairball. But be sure to talk to your vet about it on Sunday if the coughing continues.

Good luck with the kittens though! Looking forward to seeing pictures of them once they have arrived :)

@Raina21  her eyes and nose aren't running. She has sneezed from the time I got her at 6 weeks old. Poor baby has allergies I think. It has gotten better with time but when I first got her every time she got close to me and smelled my shirt she would sneeze like 3 times in a row. I don't wear perfume I got use to that because of my moms allergies. It had to be my detergent I am always changing that up to what is the cheapest that week.

I have the money for Lil Bits vet visit put up. I hope that it isn't more than I have but I will have to deal.

I am pretty sure she has tape worms. I have seen these little white rice grains on her from time to time. She will be treated for those this weekend. Are tapeworms one of the ones they can get invitro? Will treating her treat them or will I have to have another treatment. Because if they get them wouldn't the just keep passing back and forth?

I am also getting her revolution treatment. Will that be enough if she has flea's, I haven't seen any, to make sure babies don't get them?

I want mom and babies to be healthy and happy as I can make them. I feel so stupid but I want what is best.

Also do I have to worry about coccidia since I know mom doesn't have it. Or is it something most kittens develop?

Are there any other things I need to watch for?

The rice looking particles you mentioned are tapeworms. It's usually a tablet that is given twice, two weeks apart, though some vets give liquid wormers that treat tapeworms and roundworms. The topical revolution treatment should take care of her fleas. Even though you don't see any, she must have them because she has tapeworms. Tapeworms come from fleas that are ingested when cats lick themselves. It takes two treatments to kill the worms at different stages of their life cycle. It is recommended to treat cats for worms at least yearly.

Don't feel stupid! You are doing a great job! We all have much to learn from one another! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I believe she will still need to be treated twice. Treating now will kill all of the current worms, and then the follow up treatment will kill any eggs that have hatched since then.
