Back to work this morning. Rick had problems trying to get his truck door open to start the truck today....it's really cold outside. Thankfully he got it opened and got the truck started with no problems.
  • Gave everybody breakfast, put the dishes away from the dishwasher and put the breakfast dishes in, scooped the boxes, made the bed, and swept the bathroom floor (there's always a lot of litter scattered about in the bathroom).
  • Get through my work day; I found some stuff in my cube from my boss this morning, so it's going to be a busy day today. I'd like to walk at lunch, but with 20 mph winds and temps in the low-20s, boy, it's going to be
     cold.
  • Rick and I are going up to his mom's house tonight to do some cleaning and packing.

Today:

up early, showered,

medicated and fed Artie

Scooped box

Breakfast

washed dishes

made bed

brushed Artie

waiting until it is time to warm up the car for Artie's Vet appointment; just a check-up,

That is probably about it for the rest of the day. I will probably be too cold to do much else except to dump the trash later.

It is very cold outside. Right now it is 18 degrees at 9:30am. I hate to take my buddy out in this weather; but it is the internal med Vet, and he need a new prescription for the cisapride and the steroid.

Missing hen was home at dusk!!!!! YAY!
Go to town get goat feed and chicken scratch
Go to dump
Feed all animals
Water all animals (got down to 18 here and all outside water froze)
Check on injured doe-ended up somehow getting an abscess in her knee. It opened up and started draining. I gently helped the rest to drain while holding her. She was in pain and such a trooper!!! Gave her an intramuscular antibiotic. Flushed wound and wrapped up to protect against anything else. Give something for pain.
Fix electric fence,again!
Birds to bed-head count
Vacuum,dishes,trash and scooped poo
Shower
Play some games
Check on does and babes
Nauny

  • Clean all the litterboxes out
  • I have three smallish loads of laundry to do
And I think that will be it. Supernatural comes back tonight, so I'm looking forward to being in bed (with Mollipop) by 9.

Not much tonight. Rick has a union meeting right after work and then he's bowling early. I don't know that I will do much at all, other than look through some of my MIL's cookbooks.

  • Run over to the market on my way home at lunch time for some cheese
  • I'd like to get the plastics and cardboard stuff down to the recycling center this afternoon. Recycling is officially tomorrow morning, but we are allowed to drop items off anytime as long as we don't make a mess. I don't know what the roads will be like tomorrow morning and some of our recycling bins are overflowing right now.
  • Other than that, it's just the normal stuff: scooping the boxes, walking The Beast, general cleaning, etc.

Regular morning stuff:

Medicate Artie x 3

Feed Artie, brush him, see if he feels like playing

Cuddle with Artie

wash dishes

make bed

then:

Write out a check

Write out a couple of cards.

Go to Post office

Get gas for the car

See if my neighbor who is sick needs anything

that is it for the day.

supper will be easy--just a huge sandwich.

  • Take a gander at the freezers downstairs. I need to update my lists. I've really been slacking off and I don't know what's down there anymore.
  • Scooping the litter, general clean-up, etc
  • Vacuum, dust, the normal stuff

...with the cats...
today things have (finally) slowed down a bit.

our usual morning routine of dumping the ash pan and adding more wood to the wood stove, breakfasts, scooping the litter boxes, taking the trash out, bringing in the newspaper, and washing the dishes

fedex delivered a package -- the new vacuums, one small shop vac and one smallish regular vacuum. my dirt devil vacuum's motor 'blew', so i needed to buy a new one -- these two vacuums, between them, should handle things here nicely. i think it was all the wood debris that finally 'did in' the previous vacuum (but it was also over 5 years old), so i'll use the small shop vac for that as well as litter debris and cat hair now.
