I just wondered....I have the Flex and really like it. I was going to upgrade to the ChargeHR about a month or so ago, but when I washed my iPod, I replaced that instead. I like the idea of having the ChargeHR because of seeing heart rate. And the ChargeHR counts stair steps, something the Flex does not do. (We have a bi-level, so we have steps. And I go down and up those steps a bazillion times a day.) And it includes a watch.

You are doing beautifully! Well done!

The FitBit One is the one I was considering
I like how it's pretty basic but still offers a few additional things.

Not quite 16,000 so far. I skipped taking the scenic route home today. My legs feel like jelly from all the walking and stair taking I've been doing since the start of the challenge
I did make myself go for a leisurely after dinner walk.

I have been doing workout with logs now daily, few hours a day, there is lot of walking involved too, with 20 lbs or more additional weight, it is nice full body workout.

Yesterday I gave away few V8 cylinder heads, one head is bit over 40 lbs, I had two in box, guy that came to pick them up was not a small one, but he had trouble lifting them up, his face was looking funny when I just grabbed the box and easily carried it to his truck, kind of nice how this workout is useful in everyday tasks.

Also when I carry water to sauna, it is usually 8 gallons which I have to carry from other side of the yard, about 200 feet, today it did not feel even heavy, few years ago I would of had lot of trouble lifting 8 gallons of water.

I didn't get to my daily work out yesterday. I had a busy day but I walked a lot.
Walking counts as exercise IMO
That's all I'm doing right now.

I'm going to take it easy today since tomorrow I have to do over 20,679 steps for a mini challenge
I've set my expectations low - just one more step to set a new personal best

:yeah: A lot of people will scoff at walking, but I am 60 pounds lighter than I was 10 years ago and walking is my exercise.

Yes I usually would count walking but I'm doing the 21 day fix and I am supposed to do a workout every day. I did the pilates workout today and I did not enjoy it at all. I'm just not flexible enough for a workout like that.

I think I've lost a few ounces since starting walking. Well, some of my pants and shorts seem to fit better now anyways
Not that I need to lose weight. According to current BMI guidlines, I'm "underweight" for someone of my age and height.

No idea how many actual steps I did so far.  My pedometer is currently reading 1063
It did read in the 13,000s when I got home but I think that when I was washing dishes I somehow reset the pedometer while leaning against the edge of the counter
Memo to me: move pedometer to back of waistband while doing dishes. I'll have to estimate approximately how many steps I did today and enter them into my challenge account.

I'm now 230 lbs, I was 218lbs at end of last summer.
Winter and migraines at spring has got my weight to rise and I need to do more workouts now, but it is beginning of mosquito season and there are loads of them, I need some equipment to be able to do anything.

Yesterday I visited on yard and came back, then I counted there was 50 mosquitoes on screen that came behind me, I don't mind one or two, but stay on place for few moments and there will be loads of them.

I've really got to starve myself if I want to lose weight these days. I think that's a result of over zealous dieting when I was younger. I was almost 30 before I allowed myself to get above 100 lbs. I think it's affected my metabolism in a bad way.

I walked for 2 hours on Friday. I had every intention of doing yoga today, but instead I went to the garden centre and spent the afternoon weeding and planting instead.

At a previous job I knew someone who weighed 96 pounds (she was proud of it too) and was anorexic thin
She was in her 20s.

Not quite 7,000 steps so far and I've been up since 4am (about 1pm now)
Only some 13,000 steps to go to beat my previous personal best step for the mini challenge

Everyone's been doing so well

tammat tammat That muscle gain is a great achievement :woo: It must feel so good to see results like that. You've definitely earned your rest days.

jtbo jtbo :wow: You must have some serious muscles to carry 8 gallons of water with ease.

I'm still having meds trouble, but managed to do 80 mins yoga today. I hope I can get going again now :cross:

Keep up the good work people :hyper:

I'm only average I guess, 8 gallons of water is only 30kg which is around 66lbs, as I'm large male I should be able to squat in 10 repeats more than 80% of my body weight to be something better than average and average is 50-70% of body weight.
10 reps is tough part of that, I can pick up my own weight, but I can't do 10 reps of squats of my own weight.

Slowly I'm building up though and hopefully loose that 30 pounds of weight, I hope, if I just could stay off sugar, I mean even today 1 pound of chocolate, that takes some serious workout to burn off :(

Good bit is that my weight is not really skyrocketing, but it is not getting lower very fast this way either, no excuses I'm just too weak in my mind.

I'm burning calories at high rate though, it is not all bad, today 2 hours of lawn moving, stupid grass eating machine has too small ground clearance so it is like if it would have no wheels at all, it is not one of those fancy driven ones, it has not even wheel drive, so it is all dead weight to toss around, got good sweat again.

Why there is no feature on forum where one could zap other from being a weak? I would deserve so many zaps :D

There is a rule, I have to get 3 sweats in a day, longer the sweat. better the day.

Tammat is great motivator as she is just sticking with her program, great job indeed! :D

I just need 157 more steps to break my current personal best step
Once I got a little over 10,000 I ended up jogging in place for 5,000 steps (at home and carefully because of my wonky foot) and then walked around the complex 4 times for another 4,000 steps. And now my legs feel like jelly and my knees hurt
Tomorrow is rest day.

It never looks as good as you think it does. I'm not very tall, so 100 lbs wasn't that  thin, but I've noticed that my hair and skin look a lot better now that I eat properly. I used to keep a pair of my super skinny days jeans and look at them wistfully from time to time. Eventually I decided that I didn't care if I couldn't fit into them any more and threw them out.

@JTbo  have you tried substituting chocolate with fruit? Dried raisins will sometime satisfy a chocolate craving and even though they contain a lot of sugar they don't have as much fat, which is half the battle won.

I did a 30 minute walk, a 20 minute run and then another 30 minute walk today. I should run more. I used to love running but I'm really out of practice these days.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
You are all doing great
21076 steps ysetrday and set a new personal best step
Got a shiny new virtual trophy in my virtual trophy case
I hope the rest of the team also set new personal best steps yesterday or plan to do so today. I challenged them to beat their best for a prize

 Or any dried fruit
I like dried mangos and cranberries and apricots and kiwis.

I am supposed to do a workout every day but I have to take today off. I'm hurting from yesterday's workout and I am exhausted to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I don't want to push myself too far.

Raisins get my blood pressure crazy, also they do make my skin very greasy for some reason, I think that I just try harder not to eat sweet stuff because we don't have much of those other dried fruits in our tiny local shop.

Today I started with disassembling lawn mover, then fixing issue with ground clearance and welded bit of handle part back together, then I did some more lawn mowing.
Street side of house needed to be cut down, there is large ditch which I need to jump over while carrying my lawn mower (it is about 40 pounds), again it felt great as lawn mower didn't feel that heavy as all, workout is clearly paying off!
While I was cutting that grass down I noticed a cat in a ditch nose on ground towards bottom of the ditch, poor thing was hit by a car probably, very stiff and dead, it did not improve my mood on this rainy day.

I then put poor cat to side of road so that people can see it, if someone is missing a pet they at least get to know what has happened to him/her.

After I finished then using lawn mower, I used scythe to cut down side of house and other places where mower does not fit.

Then there was few bushes that needed to be cut and I sharpened billhook which I then used on those bushes, mine is quite large version and is very heavy, usually 10 minutes is enough swinging and I start to feel burning in my forearm, I believe my billhook weights around 7 pounds, but I have not weighted it.

Rain gear is wonderful thing to have, because then there is at least some things one can do during rainy days.
