A sequel?????
For want of a better word. It was written before To Kill a Mockingbird, but is set 20 years later, with flashbacks to Scout's childhood.

Go Set A Watchman: Harper Lee dashes concerns over Mockingbird sequel, revealing she's 'happy as hell' about it

The novel, called Go Set A Watchman, was written before To Kill A Mockingbird but was rejected by publishers who set her to work on the novel that made her famous.

Its central characters, Scout, her brother Jem and their lawyer father Atticus, were brought to life in a 1962 film starring Gregory Peck.

The new book revolves around the now-adult Scout's return to her native Alabama from New York to visit her father.

Lee previously said she had not realised the manuscript of her new book had survived and said she was “humbled and amazed” it was going to be published now.

I found pdfs of two books I loved when I was a teenager, so I am rereading them. They are by Poppy Z. Brite, one is Lost Souls, which is about vampires, and the other is Drawing Blood, which is about a young man facing down the nightmare of his childhood, a haunted house, computer hacking, art and jazz. I finished Lost Souls last night and am halfway through Drawing Blood. They are still pretty good. The neat thing is, like Stephen King, there is a small town common to both books, even though they are completely different stories. A few of the same characters appear in both books. I think I'm going to look and see what else she has written.

I'm reading 'a hundred pieces of me' by Lucy Dillon. A British book. Just started it. So far so good.

Recently read "Fifteen Dogs" by Andre Alexis. It's set in Toronto and examines what happens when two Greek gods decide to give 15 dogs human level intelligence as a bet. Really interesting.

I've just finished Citizen Canine: Our Evolving Relationship with Cats and Dogs, by David Grimm. It was quite interesting. I also read Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. It was nowhere near as good as To Kill a Mockingbird; that masterpiece may never have come into being if her first book hadn't have been rejected.

I've just finished a book called Sense and Sensibility by Joanna Troloppe. It based on Jane Austen's book but in modern day. Quite a good read.
I'm now going to start No Man's Nightingale by Ruth Rendell.

I love to read even though I don't always have time to sit and read more than a few pages.  I am always looking for a new book to start.

So what book(s) are you reading? Please give the title, author and genre.

I just started a new one today.

Name: Firebrand

Author: Gillian Philip

Genre: Fantasy

I am - and always will be - an avid reader! Thanks, Mom!

Currently, I am 2/3rds into The Four Winds by David Beaty - a Suspense/Romance.

I picked it up at a yard sale for 10 cents!  I kept pushing it aside because it wasn't something I would ordinarily read, but it's actually quite good. I discovered it was first published in 1954.

When I finish this one, I will be looking forward to starting  In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware - Psychological Thriller. This is her first novel, and it has rave reviews, so I am curious to see if she will become a member of my 'favorite author' list.

Because  reading tends to put me to sleep, I developed the habit of only reading in bed. On occasion, I will curl up in the corner of the sofa, but not often because I eventually doze off, then wake up with a kink in my neck and one leg asleep! LOL

I enjoy a variety of genres, including Classics; Crime Fiction; Fiction; Thrillers; Suspense; Romance; True Crime; Adventure and Horror.

Thanks @Winchester!!! I look finding new books to read. It's hard for me to stay interested so a book has to capture my interest right from the start. There are lots of good books listed for me to check out.
