I have both Suzanne Brockman and Lisa Jackson (and Lisa Gardner) books upstairs to read. I just haven't gotten to them yet.

Just finished up Monster by I gladly forgot his name... Kody Scott! .It's described as being about a gang member who finds redemption but it was really just a very annoying cheesy book and a huge waste of my time. I was determined to finish it since I paid for it. I'm getting angry about it all over again :)

On my Nook:

The Scarpetta Factor - Patricia Cornwall (I like her Scarpetta series)

Home of the Braised - Julie Hyzy (never read anything by her before, so not sure what to expect?)

Split Second - Catherine Coulter

BTW, did anybody read Takedown Twenty, the new Stephanie Plum by Evanovich? Please tell me that I'm not the only one who thought it was really bad. With the Plum series, I started buying the books in hard cover. Then I started buying the e-version for my Nook. Then I started getting them from the library. Now I'm just getting them from the e-library. When I put it on my Holds list, I was 86 out of 86 in line for it....and that didn't even bother me; I figured, well, I'd get it when I got it.They're not worth buying anymore. Honestly, this was just more of the same old, same old stuff about Ranger and Joe. I think I'm done with that series. This one was terrible and I'm sorry I wasted the 90 minutes it took to read the book.

On my nook: I just finished  Dust the latest book in the Scarpetta series.I am a huge Patricia Cornwell fan as well. My father was a science teacher and because of him I have a deep appreciation of all things science. I can appreciate that Patricia is actually educated in forensic science and shares

the actual procedures and  knowledge she has. I feel like a learn something very interesting every time I read one of her books.

The Complete Sherlock Holmes - I must admit I had never really had an interest until our babysitter asked for help with her homework. She had to read one of A.C. Doyles S.H. stories and break down his writing style. Well as we read it I must admit I was completely hooked and decided to buy

the book. Very well thought out and written mystery plots. Just finished this as well.

Deeply Odd, from Dean Koontz- Odd Thomas series. Just started it so I`ll have to give you an update after I have read a bit more

Method for PRAYER by Matthew Henry. I am really enjoying this book .It is a revised version and an easy  read. A refreshing reminder of the many

ways we can approach and remember God in prayer.

I was SOOOOOO into the Stephanie Plum books a few years ago. Even when I noticed it was more of the "same old same old" I still read them and it didn't bother me much. However, after attempting to watch the terrible movie, ugh can't think of the name right now, I think it was ONE FOR THE MONEY, I completely turned against the whole series. I was a bit saddened by the whole experience, I used to love those books.

Almost finished the 6th Jason Bourne book.  Taking a break from that series for a while. I think there are 12 books to read!!   I'm going to read Patricia Cornwell's "Dust" next, followed by Michael Connolly's "The Burning Soul"  and then P.C. Cast's "Revealed", if I haven't already read it.  I read so fast that sometimes I forget if I've read a book until I start reading it again!  LOL

After rereading all 7 Harry Potter books it was time for some true crime: Obsessed by M. William Phelps and The Murder of Jacob by Mary Ellen Johnson.

Almost finished with my E.E. 'Doc' Smith collection. 14 full novels in one e-book. I think the next one will be "Cut to the Bone" , one of the 'Body Farm Series' by Jefferson Bass, one of the best forensic anthropologists in the US. I never met him, but I was well acquainted with Dr. Maples, of the C.A. Pound Human ID lab. Most students and employees of UF never knew there was a body farm right on campus.

@MServant. I never realised you had harry potter on cd. Nice. The films and books don't interest me per se but must be nice to listen to them. Nice one.

@asherdash.
Now it's a waste getting angry again and is just harmful to yourself. If I can't read a book I've bought I don't. I'll get p'd off but that's it.

A similar thing happened to me with the Southern Vampire Mysteries (the Sookie Stackhouse books). After True Blood started, the books went waaay downhill. The first five or so are very entertaining. I think Ms. Harris intended to finish the series much sooner and was convinced to keep on writing because of the show. Ugh. Bad idea. What she did was nothing short of character assassination. I felt like I lost some of my best friends.
I read somewhere that Bill was supposed to be killed off, but she was convinced to not do it because of the direction the TV show was taking. Ugh, again. I read the last few books of the series and ended up angry and very sad after each one. The strange thing is after the first season, TB goes completely in it's own direction, so her butchering of her own series occurred for no reason.

On my Nook:

No One Will Hear You - Max Allen Collins

Drums of Autumn - Diana Gabaldon (Outlander Book 4)

The Fiery Cross - Diana Gabaldon (Outlander Book 5)

Unseen - Karin Slaughter

I am re-reading the Outlander series in between other books.

I put both Drums of Autumn and The Fiery Cross on hold at the same time because I figured that way, I wouldn't have to wait long between the two books. Well, The Fiery Cross came in first over a week ago, but I thought it wouldn't be much of a problem because I was 1 out of 1 on the list for Drums of Autumn.

The best-laid plans of mice and men.....and me. I just finally got Drums of Autumn this morning and I can keep The Fiery Cross for only 5 days yet. That means I have to read Drums of Autumn (book 4) and then The Fiery Cross (book 5) in five days. And did I mention that's over 2,300 pages for both books? I am going to have my nose in my Nook for the next five days if it kills me. I will be living and breathing Scotland (well, the States, at this point in the series)!

I know what you're saying about Scotland! After finishing Ian Rankin's new Rebus detective book (Saints of the Shadow Bible), which takes place in Edinburgh, I got started on the Outlander series with the first book. Just finished that and am moving on to Dragonfly in Amber.

At first, when I started reading, I was thinking, "hmmmm.... bodice ripper - time travelling bodice ripper". But, it's really so much more. I'm really involved now. The research this author has done is incredible, and the story is so engaging! I really care about these people!

And, it's being made into a TV series on STARZ. I don't have STARZ, so I'll have to wait until it comes out on video. Turns out the guy playing Jamie is someone I met when I was over in Edinburgh doing shows for the Fringe - Sam Heughan. This is going to make him a huge star!

Jefferson Bass is actually the writing team of Dr. Jefferson and Dr. Bass. It tells that in the back of the book.

I also read Dinosaur Wars:Earthfall.  Thanks @Winchester for pointing it out to me.

Right now I am reading Hybrid, a B&N Free Friday book.

How did you like Dinosaur Wars:Eartfall?

For me that was really capturing book, but I don't know if others find it bit far from any reality?

Does anyone else read web comics?

I have been reading this one recently, if one can ignore certain elements it has quite nice story and setting, but as all web comics it is bit slow and after 10 years story is still not finished :
http://twokinds.keenspot.com/

Another bit similar is http://generation17.petitesymphony.com/comic/cover which I have not caught up yet.

I find both interesting, but at the same time I find both not quite moving enough, story begans nicely, but then it is bit like if story gets to background and focus is with relationships and such which are not so much interest for me, but for someone else that might be a plus side.
