Don't feel bad, Mservant, I was the one who asked the question and was blown away that they run during the night.  I too got confused in all that "leg" talk, but originally it was the math that I could not figure out.  Now atleast I can picture them running.  200 miles equals 321.87km....Its like running from one city to another in two days....wow.
I didn't even attempt the math, my brain doesn't 'do' numbers!   Might as well be reading Martian when it comes to numbers and my brain.  Quite worrying sometimes, especially when you think I used to manage quite a significant budget for a local authority.
It actually used to work pretty well because I was so careful I almost always managed to come out  well within the expected targets, but oh boy did it take me a lot of time working things out.
You should see the look of concentration when I'm trying to work out a basic addition, and no way can I multi-task when I'm doing even simple sums.  I get the general picture that it's a long way to run but will take your word for how many km versus miles.

I'm dropping in again to help add to the post count! I'm not going to go back and read all of the posts (there's just a few too many ;) ), so I'm sorry if I'm interrupting any conversations.  I suppose I could make this "babble" about what I've been doing lately.  Well... This weekend I attended a shooting competition and came in first, with a personal best score for offhand. Yay me! :)

Other than that, I could talk about the weather, but that would be a bit too dull.  Oh well- babble on!

Congrats on the win and personal best!

Shooting as in guns? I shoot arrows, but don't ever compete because I would never win! Also can't afford gun ammo. My auto mechanic says it comes out to a couple hundred every time he goes.

You didn't happen to get one of the bits that looks like they've got significant climb in them too did you @GoldyCat?  If you did, make sure you don't let your team choose their 'legs' first if you ever do anything like this again.

We usually differentiate between legs (ours) and Legs (the race course).  Sorry for the confusion.

Hello, @catbehaviors,  what exactly is "offhand" and what are you shooting with?  And don't think just because your cat is wearing a cape that you can just "disappear" now.....lol.
   Tell us more.

Whew!  I thought it was just me and Math/Martian...lol.  I had to google the miles to km conversion.  (I just love google,....what did we do before, without it.)

So i think  you would fit right in with the politicians over here, they cannot budget whatsoever.  Ohh,  but you said you were pretty careful and came under budget.....ahhh....then NO....you would just not do in our province.  We get rid of the smart budget people and just keep the spenders....oops....I better take a break now.   The "feds" maybe listening...
...LOL.

Oh the feds probably are, along with many others but hey, no secret politicians and local government folk like to spend their money.
I wasn't a politician but I was spending local government money very nicely until recently so I was one of the people everyone liked to criticize.  I liked to spend and I was good at it but I could have spent more.
The people I spent it on were usually pretty happy and my budget kept being made bigger so figured I was doing something right (even if everything else I did was wrong).  Most of my adult life I've said I thought I had a slight number equivalent of dyslexia (dyscalculia) but everyone I worked with and knew said no no no, so I bumbled along doing sums like an 8 year old.  My new boss says she is sure I do, having watched me plodding away and jumbling things up despite the look of intense concentration on my face.
Thankfully I did tell her I was rubbish at arithmatic and numbers and had to concentrate and take my time before I got the job!  Actually, so far she's been really nice and understanding about it.

Thanks @Raintyger! The guns I compete with are precision pellet rifles, so it's not that expensive.  I also recently started shooting smallbore rifle, which costs a little bit more, but it's not nearly as expensive as what your mechanic is talking about!

I've tried archery a few times, and it's always quite enjoyable.  I'd be interested in doing it more often if I could.

@cat nap  Offhand is shooting standing.
I explain what kind of guns I shoot above. :)

I just got home from work and wanted to wish Mooch and Noodles a happy birthday!

I have no idea when my cats were actually born, but when I got them, I estimated back to the nearest birthday in the family, so Eopie has the same bday as my Dad, and Schnitzel has the same bday as my brother.  Come to think of it, Eopie's birthday is right around the corner.   I can't wait to go shopping for a wonderful little treat for her.  Maybe some fresh catnip, or a new bag of Greenies!

Plus, congratulations @catbehaviors  on post #750!!!

I'm so excited to see that we have more posts than last time.  Was it 741 last time?  Why does that number stick in my head...

Ah haa, after all my chat about being rubbish at numbers I thought how would anyone have got the number of posts we did last time and figured Anne must have told everyone at the start of the thread and yes, there it was!  Well remembered PennyWise!

Still chatting here after 750, still heading for that goal of reaching 1000 before the end of the month.  I find it difficult to believe how hard it is, and then remember not everyone babbles about rubbish as much as me.  I drive my family nuts talking about nothing much all the time.
Well they are doubly sad as not only do they like to be serious and intellectual most of the time but they don't like cats.

See and that's why you come to this site!  So you can babble about nothing, or babble about Mouse, and you don't have to worry about annoying your family.  Or friends.  Or co-workers.  Or random people you meet in the supermarket.  Not that I know what any of that is like!

Got any little movies of Opal doing this trick on your phone?  I'd love to see that,
and if it was me and Mouse I'd be showing my movie to every (unwilling) aquaintance I came across - of course most people would be giving each other warning signals and I would be having a very quiet week but hey, that's life!  I can accost strangers in the street if I have to!

February is a short month. Was the last babbling record set in a short month, too? If not the games should be extended!

@PennyWise...You are going to have to hold off getting your girl some treats, because we have all been invited to MoochnNoodles home for a party at midnight.  I am not sure where it is.....somewhere "mid atlantic", I think that is probably "bermuda triangle territory",
but don't worry because  @Raintyger  is in too, and MServant said she would wake up, whatever the "time zone" difference.  I think it is going to be wild because MoochnNooodles said she is not sure if the date was correct, so the party will likely last two whole days.  Even JTbo from finland will be there.

So are you in?

I think we may be related. So I have mellowed with age, and now just talk online, and then they ask, "why are you always on that computer, now?"  It used to be that I chatted while playing online poker, only for fun, no money was involved, but some of the players were jerks, even online and the nice crowd did not always prevail.

"But they don't like cats".....WHAT???.....okay, if they have allergies, then its alright, even though there are "pills" for that now....lol.....but  WHAT??.....Did some cat scare them when they were younger?
Or are they super neat freaks? Where is DR. Phil when you need him?
So you are not like the person in the "Hunger Games", then?  Because that is what I pictured in my head.  And as for directions to the party tonight.....I think MoochnNoodles is going to use a similar "relay race" map.....So who knows who will show up.....I'm just babbling....lol....

Oh boy, that shooting practice sounds very expensive, how do people manage to afford to do that so much as they do????

I'll stick to my cat and the odd coffee out at a cafe, or something equally wild.
@cat nap, no one in my family has an allergy to cats or dogs, they just don't seem to like animals.  Sad bunch! Well I think one of my SiLs is a bit allergic but that doesn't excuse the rest of them.
I think I should have asked to be adopted as a child, the largest pet I was allowed was gerbils and even they were under duress.  My family tollerate my cats and do come see them but they wouldn't choose to be around cats at all if I didn't make them.  I can't complain though as one of my brothers calls Mouse his nephew, and I get away with saying to my mom that Mouse is one of her grandchildren.  The younger generation are thankfully more animal friendly but for some bizzarre reason they all like dogs more.
Maybe we have some distant relative somewhere, someone with a brilliant mind for mindless babble, rubbish math brain, and a love of cats.....?
Possible, but unlikely.  How many more distant relatives do you think we could have here on TCS?

Count me in!  A kitty birthday party?  How could I say no?!

BTW, my DH is allergic to the kitties, but he sucks it up and loves the girls anyway, wheezing all the way.

And I finally found a person at work to talk to about my amazing girls!  How happy am I?!  It happened like this: we do a Secret Santa every year at work, and when you put your name on a piece of paper, you also put down 3 different gift ideas.  So mine were asking people to donate to the local animal shelter or cat shelter.  So the girl who picked my name has a girl in her department who is a huge dog lover (I don't hold that against her), and so she approached me after Christmas and told me that she thought it was really nice that I thought of the animals at Christmastime.  And so ever since then, we talk almost every day about our pets, and how cute and wonderful and amazing they are.  And I tolerate her dog stories, and she tolerates my cat stories.  So maybe that was my Christmas present - a comrade at work with whom I can share daily stories about my great kitties!

And yes, lately DH is always asking me what I'm typing on my computer.
