Okay, here are my problems:

The whole site is super slow. I am using the newest version of Firefox. All my cat stuff (bookmarks, links, etc) is here so I don't want to have to switch to a different browser..

I can't seem to scroll down the page using my touchpad. I'm on a laptop with no mouse, so having to use the scrollbar on the side of my browser is a pain.

Icons also take forever to load. And not the rotating ones, regular ones start out gray or non-existant and after 30 seconds show up.
See the dropdown menu in the gold bar at the top that says Forum Nav ? Choose Subscriptions. You are looking at the place to edit them, not to view them.
Okay. I found it, thanks.
No gold bar though, but I found the options I had to choose "Threads" to get that page you were showing.
Activity Forums Threads Edit My Subscriptions
I can't find that subscriptions page either one of these ways... X___x

Subscriptions can be got to from any page. Look around you will see the word "subscriptions" in the upper right corner, and also down in the lower right area of any page

Can we request that one of the smileys be replaced with the vibes smiley? :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:
And is there a way to quickly find threads created by members as opposed to posts? In TCS1 there were "quick links" - this included a members list. And in profiles, we could choose to see "stats," and look up either posts or threads.
In TCS2, if I've checked thoroughly, and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, we have to
1) just "search" on a member name (so hopefully you remember it, vs. getting a list of options with the "members" quick link)
2) click on a thread that user posted in
3) click on the username to go to the profile
4) and what we can see is "recent activity" (which appears to be sorted oddly?)
5) Any way to find just threads started by a user?
THANK YOU
Go the the member's profile. Look down below to the left, under the profile picture you will see a list of things :

Go to My Profile--->Edit Account Details--->Email Preferences and Notify me by email when another user messages me. AFAIK, your PMs aren't in the folders you made at the old site, but all of them should be in the database. You'll probably have to do a search (Search Messages on the left) or go through them all to find the important ones again and reorganize them, i.e., make new custom folders (Manage folders on the left above the search box).
Thank you :thanks: Tricia!! I made the change and appreciate your help :D

I have a kind of, well, silly question...

Is there any way to permanently delete all of my private messages? I see that my old PM's (including all of those which had been deleted) have followed me here from the old site. And, while it's nothing crucial, I am a very obsessive compulsive individual. I am constantly deleting e-mail messages and cleaning up my Facebook profile and the like. And, while it shouldn't bother me to just have the private messages in the trash folder, it makes me anxious. I tried to delete the messages myself, but they only filtered down to the trash folder. I was just wondering whether a mod would have the ability to delete them all for me.

Again, I know this isn't anything overly important. But, it's just a little thing that is irking me a lot. Aside from that, the site looks good. I'm definitely interested to finding my way around the new site. Thank you so much to Anne and to all of the mods for your hard work and dedication to TCS and, really, to all of us. Please know that you're appreciated
!

I believe the trash folder gets fully deleted once every 24 hours. Let me know if you're still seeing the messages there the next day :)

No worries about silly questions - none are silly. It's a new system for us all and we're all learning together :)

I think the "Trash" folder is completely emptied periodically, so they'll disappear from there eventually. I forget how many days that is. It's a safety precaution against people accidentally deleting something they actually wanted to keep.

Oops, Anne was faster.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Tyler its not a case of if I don't feel like paying for an app its the case of I don't see why I should pay for an app to make an internet site work! Don't see why I or anyone else should have to as it stands at the moment the site works horrifically in my phone its slow it reloads all the time I can't view new posts have to keep going back to the forum to go into each one and I do not think an all wilk sort that out
I havent tried to access TCS on my phone yet but to be honest I think Ill have the same issue as you AJ. Forums are a pain to access on my phone period unless its a very very basic platform with no fancy doodads and stuff.

Its still a bit slow for me today. All my other sites are running good but TCS is running like Im viewing a very heavy pic filled site. Im still not a huge fan of the new platform however I love TCS so I can deal with it once I get used to it. One thing I do like, I was worried about not having the quick reply but one little click in the reply box and bam...a quick reply without having to wait for a new page to load.

Since I was one who was having a lot of issues at work with the new platform, I should mention that, here at home, I'm fine. It's amazingly fast and there are no issues for me.....thank goodness.

Thanks, Anne, for your patience with me yesterday.

ETA: I'm now at work and it's still slow here. I can deal, knowing that it's better at home.

Is the permanent colour scheme on now? It's sooooo bright and sore on my eyes. I liked office hours before so that's probably why
Yes, this is the final color scheme - and it's the exact same one we had before. Those of you who were using a different skin will definitely take some time adjusting. According to the usage stats, an overwhelming majority of the users were using the default skin, so for most folks, this should be ok.

Sorry about that - you might want to look into a Firefox add-on that lets you control any website's colors. If you do find one that you like, let us know.

Question for those of you who are still experiencing slow load times, after surfing the site for a while - which browser are you using and which version of that browser?

I am in foxfire and I found that after a few openings it is getting faster.

I am having a problem signing in. The upper right hand log in area has an over lap of the print, of a sort. I have to go to any thread and try to post and sign in with the pop up box telling me to register or sign in.

I would also like to mention a thanks to the person who found the font enlarger. "hold down control and use your scroll . I am not blind anymore.

I had the same problem, and one of the people from Huddler figured it out pretty quickly. Go to View at the top of your browser, then to Zoom, then click Reset. Once you're logged in you can readjust the zoom.

Good morning :sun: :D
I keep getting this pop-up along the bottom of my screeen, every page I go to. It is SO annoying. Is there anything I can do to make it go away??? :lol3: Here is what the pop-up says:

An add-on for this website failed to run"

I am using Firefox and having no troubles here with speed, colors (now that it's been toned down) or log in (remember to always choose "remember me" to stay logged in.

I find Chrome to be very slow compared to firefox, it always surprises me when people say Chrome is fast. It's faster than IE true, (though that is not saying much lol) but Firefox is still by far the fastest, and most user friendly, browser, in my opinion!

You could take a look at the Chrome extensions, but I don't see anything like that.
