Well I like both teams equally, but my bet is on France... I love the way Zidane plays! I was kinda upset that the only goal was a penalty, the Portugese were very strong... oh well.

I rather think Italy will beat France, but who knows? Many Italian players are shopping around for new employers because of the game-fixing scandals in Italy, and resulting "degrading" of the teams involved, which makes me think that they're extremely motivated.

Germany got third place, 3 -1 vs. Portugal. There are fireworks, honking horns, people singing - it's crazy. My father-in-law came over to watch the game with us - and fell asleep!!!

Now the big question is: Will Jürgen Klinsmann remain the German coach?
The hero of the evening is Bastian Schweinsteiger, nicknamed "Schweini" (Piggy). He really wanted to score!

That's great for Germany - they've been such good hosts. Although no-one should get a prize for being host, it's good to see them get something.

If Italy wins, there will be more fireworks around here. We have a lot of Italians, and not too many French, although France is about a two-hour drive from here.
