They have some really good recipes in there
$38??? Whoa, thats a bit pricey. The ones I have seen go for $20NZ or less - when I go to my meeting on Thursday, I will get the names of the cookbooks and let you know.

Try this article. It has a pretty good formula for BMR and how to figure your caloric intake to lose weight.

$38 does seem quite pricey for a cookbook. Have you looked at places online like Amazon?

If you have a checking account I believe you can set up PayPal to use that and a lot of the used item online stores accept paypal.

Well, 2 pounds down this week (9 total). I think I'm gonna use my own link and refigure my calorie intake.

Kim's post remnded me that I have my own personal inspiration too. A co-worker/friend of mine has lost over 100 lbs. on her own (since june '07). She looks fantastic and I'm always amazed at her resolve and determination. What's interesting is my loss has tapered off since she moved to a different office and I don't see her daily.

They have one book at the meetings but it doesn't
provide much recipes,it's only 15 pages long

I asked my leader why they don't sell the other one
that they have in bookstores (which has over 200 pages )
she said they did at one time but few ppl bought it
because of the price so now they just have the 15
page one...I like the other one mich much better
but that price is too steep for me lol

I think you should buy it - just think of it being an investment in your and your family's future. Most of those recipes are well-liked by my family, so I just make them for everyone.

Maybe its a NC thing?

But I agree with Kim - it is worth buying the book, they have so many great recipes for the whole family!

Hey all, I decided to chime in here -

I'm not doing weight watchers or anything but I do have weight to lose.

The doctor told me I need to lose 35 lbs.

Plus if I ever want to get pregnant I need to do this because I don't want extra weight when that happens.

So for the past week I've been eating toast (whole wheat but only 6 carbs) for breakfast with a little cream cheese and/or some grapefruit (no sugar on top)

Lunch: My FAVE! - - - salad greens with grape tomatoes, green peppers, onions, pickle, cucumber, tuna it's so good you don't even need dressing!

Dinner something high protein with veggies on the side

All snacks (which I'm not even hungry for anymore) - low sugar, good fats if any, low sodium for ALL meals and snacks.......

Did I tell you that when I went to the doctor, oh last April I had a blood pressure of 140/90

But when I went last week it was something like 120/80.....yeah!
