I have no idea why people feel the need to lie about whether they drink or not. I have no problem with people who drink, I have issues with drinkers who don't take responsibility for over-doing it. My Dad could always tell even when I tried to drink to be cool in high school -- my system would reject the carbonation and/or alcohol and I'd come home a very sick puppy and one time even to chug something to be cool and passed out very fast. No hiding from Dad!Originally Posted by Marge
You know I wanted to say one thing here. I know YOU aren' that way, but every time someone tells me they "aren't much of a drinker" it has turned out to be a lie! I kid you not, one time I was at a party and there was a lot of drinking going on and this woman I knew from childhood tells me she isn't a drinker..I believed her and it turns out it's a big line. She is! Another mutual friend told me. Then it happened again, a new friend I had said she doesn't drink 'Can't stand the smell" etc, and then THAT turned out to not be true.
I wonder why they feel they must make that up? Shame or something? I mean I just hink it's a personal choice, doesn't mean you are an addict or anything. I totally respect those who choose not to also and I know there is peer pressure. I went on a diet once and didn't drink at all and people kept putting drinks in my hand, very annoying.
Drinking out isn't worth the money!! That's how many restaurants make their money. I just like wine with friends, casual etc.Originally Posted by eburgess
