see if you can get a deal that after 90 days the match the money you are making now?
GOOD LUCK!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!
I hope it pays well too - but thats the thing - when I called her - she asked what I made, and I told her -and then she asked how much LOWER I could go in salaryOriginally Posted by Phenomsmom
Kenz you will do great. More people means more of a chance to get the job IMO. Because one of them may really like you and get everyone else to decide that you are the one for the job! Hopefully their entry level pays well!good luck vibes
Maybe they are just trying to pay you as little as possible. Maybe they will decide that you are the one for the job and pay you more because you are more qualified.Originally Posted by babyharley

I dont think its giong to pay very well, I've been having 2nd thoughts about going - I cant afford to make any less, and I'm not looking for an entry level job - I think they might tell me I'm over qualified - ugh, I'm so dissapointed.
That is true...once they interview you, they might feel you are more qualified for a higher position....or if they don't have an open one, they can always keep you in mind if something else shows up!!Originally Posted by Phenomsmom
Don't not go because you think it might not be right for you. Go anyways. You never know what will happen. Maybe they will have another position open that you could slide into!
Thats true - I don't NEED the job - and I can't go lower than what I get paid now - its just the fact that I'm looking for a job that I can grow with, advance into better jobs, ect - I'm just hoping that this isn't going to be a simple entry level job that has no potential of growth.Originally Posted by Alaynna

***The company needs you....you don't need the company...in other words don't settle for a lower salary (unless you really want to leave your current job).....if this doesn't work out then its not meant to be and a better opportunity will arise!!
Well, they are going to ask questions that relate to the job title. So before you go, think about what you do right now that is similar or will help you in the new position.Originally Posted by babyharley

I'm really nervous for the interview - I don't know much about the company since I just moved to the area - I did a little research last night - but I've never really had a 'formal' interview, so I don't know what to expect them to ask me
Oh your not suggesting too much - I really greatly appreciate itOriginally Posted by Alaynna

Also, you should ask questions about the position. The interviewer's always like it when the person seems interested in learning more about the position.
**Sorry if I am suggesting too much, but I did a lot of research on interviews before I applied at my current job, b/c its very difficult to get into the company I work for.
Your so right Karen - thank youOriginally Posted by AbbysMom
Relax. Just remember there are plenty of cat people with you, cheering you on.Even if it turns out not to be the job for you, it is great you are going on a formal interview. The experience is invaluable and after going through it, you won't be as nervous next time.

Just to add too (since i'm sure your in the interview right now) and good friend of mine told me that any time you're looking for a job, ask for a minimum 10% more then what you're currently making. This way it guarantees you a raise and you're not selling yourself short.
Again, good luck!

Thanks
I don't have the interview til 2PM - its only 10:30AM here now
So I have awhile to wait.... and wait....
I took the afternoon off to prepare, so I won't be so rushed.
Your telling me!Originally Posted by Alaynna

I think you made a mistake in telling her your current wage. Preparing you to accept a lower wage offer is older than the hills. You should ask for more than what you're getting now.Originally Posted by babyharley

I just hate lying - I wanted to be honest, especially since I know she'll be calling my current boss and asking how much I make, and if I lied - that definately wouldn't be something I'd want to have them think - that I'm a liar.... you know?Originally Posted by Hydroaxe
