How about the Royal Canin Instinctive Kitten in what looks like a pouch - is that wet or dry? http://www.futurebazaar.com/royal-canin-instinctive-kitten-102kg/pd/115928/?ref=category The picture makes it look like wet food, but the weight indication of 1.02 kg. is confusing. It would be a good choice if it's wet.The Kitten 36 is definitely dry. http://www.futurebazaar.com/royal-canin-kitten-36-2kg/pd/115927/?ref=mlt Iams, like RC, is a step above Whiskas, but wet food is definitely preferable to all dry.
The Taste of the Wild dry for all ages would be better than Whiskas, Iams or Royal Canin dry food: http://www.dogspot.in/shop/taste-wild-river-canyon-feline-cat-food-7kg/ because it's grain-free. It's a shame they only offer the fish variety and that it's so expensive; the recommended quantity to feed per meal is lower than for the other brands, though, but 7 kg. is a lot to order when you don't know whether he'll like it.
