If you are really concerned re hepatic lipidosis (and perhaps a vet tech here will correct me if I am wrong) the caution re feeding too much would be at any one time - not overfilling the stomach. I'd go for frequent small feedings - even getting up through the night until this little one seems out of the woods. I hope Hissy will come through, and of course, you can ask your vet, but I'd think feeding every 3 or 4 hours is called for.
