@sarthur2 I am feeding it with formula, the vet said our cat (mom) doesn't produce milk. And when the kitten was born it couldn't latch on to the moms teat because it didnt have any power anyway.
@sarthur2 50ml bottle has lasted me 2 days and I feed it every hour or so. I do not have a weighing machine so I don't know how much weight it has gained. It has gained a tiny bit it's visible.
Thank you I'm trying very hard. So I've mixed about 2-3tsp of honey in 250ml of water and rubbed a bit on its lips and gums, it's meowing right now about to feed it KMR in about 2 mins. (Giving it 5 mins after honey)
It is meowing right now so it definitely got some energy. I'm going to go hunt for a fluffy toy.
@sarthur2 I am done feeding now! I've warmed up the rice sock again to a pretty warm but not extremely hot temp, gonna let it rest now while I find a fluffy toy..
Thanks for your help everyone, here are some pics:
I am concerned that the kitten's paw may be infected. It looks red and swollen. This can be painful and can turn into sepsis, which is infection in the blood. That can be fatal.
Are you able to see a vet for antibiotics for the kitten, such as clavamox drops? I think it may be necessary ASAP.
The baby appears to be feeding well from the bottle in your video link. However, a kitten must be fed on its tummy, never on its back. Tummy down, head up, as it would feed from mom. It may aspirate formula into its lungs otherwise.
@sarthur2 It is a bit red on the bottom but on the top of the paw its completely black. I will try and consult the vet about this but he has already seen it and he just dressed it and told us to remove the dressing after 1 day which we did.
