Evening update!

In the past 24 hours, the striped one (the littler of the two) has gained 17 grams and is now 4.7 ozs. The big brother has gained 16 grams and is now 5.3 ozs.

According to my research, and please tell me if I am wrong, but that is right on target for 48 hrs old kittens?

They are doing great! :)

They should weigh 8 ounces at 2 weeks old, and one pound at 4 weeks.

I cannot thank all of you enough for your advice and encouragement. But don't worry, this is not goodbye, I'll definitely update regularly.

...Oh. Well, while I'm here...I've read about aspiration pneumonia. I know what it is but what should I be looking for? Do we need to take any precautions?

As long as they are nursing mom this will not occur. It's when supplementing that you have to be careful to go drop by drop.

Thank you! Seriously.

One of my friends told me I needed to hire a kitten doula. I should tell them I found one!

Just found this thread. Maeby Funke-Bluth Hayes, (Maeby, I presume) is beautiful. She is so lucky you decided to bring her in when you did.

Any chance of seeing kitten pics? :)
