Follow the vets advice about keeping him from mama except for feeding time, and maybe even keep him in a box or crate. --I don't know if putting down a towel or blanket (something that doesn't bunch up underneath him?) in the box/crate would help him as opposed to him trying to get around on a slipperier surface...
