I'm from the old school of thought and don't make any plans/decisions until after the first trimester of pregnancy since that is the most critical part of a pregnancy so I wouldn't even be thinking about names - sorry, no help here.
Yes, I used to think that way before I got pregnant. And then I thought I'm not going to deny this pregnancy or myself the pleasure of sharing it with friends and planning for it `in case' anything goes wrong. If it does, there's nothing I can do about it - but at least my friends and family will have known and will be there to support me. I couldn't imagine keeping such big news a secret or not letting myself get excited or plan for it. I used to agree - but now that I actually am pregnant I think it's a very negative way to think - well, it feels that way for me, anyway. Almost as if somehow I'm subconsciously wishing harm on my pregnancy - or expecting something to go wrong, at the least. I refuse to think negatively about this at all - and will cross that bridge IF I come to it.Originally Posted by Yosemite

I love the name Ryan for a girl, I think its so cute!Originally Posted by KitEKats4Eva!
That's part of the reason I asked people though - because not only do you get good ideas but you also get to see the sorts of tastes that other people have and what they like, and what's popular these days as well as some really original ideas that I'd never thought of.
I like Ryan for a girl, too!
My Grandparents next door neighbors had a little girl, and named her Brytni (Brittany) I've never seen it spelled that way before!Originally Posted by KitEKats4Eva!
I must admit I'm a bit of a traditionalist. And I especially don't get into spelling traditional names in weird ways. I don't think it's original, really - just silly. And difficult for the child when it has to constantly spell its name to people!!
I remember laughing with Max once when I said I liked Rebekah - and spelt that way, the Hebrew way. But I said to him `I like it spelt the Hebrew way' and he said, `How's that? With an X??'. And that's how it seems - so many names I see these days have the spelling altered to make it look fancy or different (I guess) and it just looks stupid to me.
But that's just me, I guess!
