I was actually about to suggest Rebekah (spelled that way), as that's one of my guardian angel's names (yes, I have them, yes I know they exist, and I know their names... call me crazy... but they've gotten me through a lot!). The other is Cassandra.Originally Posted by KitEKats4Eva!
I must admit I'm a bit of a traditionalist. And I especially don't get into spelling traditional names in weird ways. I don't think it's original, really - just silly. And difficult for the child when it has to constantly spell its name to people!!
I remember laughing with Max once when I said I liked Rebekah - and spelt that way, the Hebrew way. But I said to him `I like it spelt the Hebrew way' and he said, `How's that? With an X??'. And that's how it seems - so many names I see these days have the spelling altered to make it look fancy or different (I guess) and it just looks stupid to me.
But that's just me, I guess!
My best friend's kids are Adrianne, Malissa, and Jamal (he's the youngest at a year, while the other two are teens). I have no children, nor much desire to have any... but i love the names! Being a writer, I have to come up with names for my characters...
Some of them are:
Daniera James
Toryn
Rima
Liane
Kris (girl)
and those are just some of the humans... I have more characters from other stories, but they don't seem to be on this computer... ggrrrrrr...
Two of my favorite non-human names from my most recent story are Mair and Yela... but those may be a little out there... I write fantasy and sci-fi...
