Yes! Sally's should have those!Thank you for the great advice, MagiksGirl!! There's a Sally's near me and another store like it. I'm SURE I can find those items there!!
As for cutting my own hair, nope. It's short. Actually got such a bad cut at the last place I went to that I received EIGHT coupons for free service. It's been 6 weeks and it's taken this long to get my "bangs" to within 1/2 inch of my eyebrows. I was waiting til then to color it. My sister cried after the cut (she paid for it) and stared at me like I was the boogy man the whole weekend she visited. Lol!! Can't wait to color it now. I will be using the manager of the same chain salon but 10 miles away from where I got it cut. My hair went from 1/4 inch on the right side of my "side swept" bangs, peaked in the middle, then got short again, like a reverse wave. [emoji]128534[/emoji]
Wonder who else has a salon horror story to tell?
Oh, wow, that sounds horrible. Especially the scalp burning.I have a kind of horror story, but it wasn't the salon's fault. A friend of mine got hold of some salon strength bleach. I asked her to bleach my hair for me (after being black, blue black, purple, purple black, black and red, red...you get the idea, I fancied going white-blonde). BIG mistakeShe decided to apply it like shampoo, rubbing it into my scalp in the processI think I lasted 5mins before it started burning. Washed it off straight away (said friend had to go out at that point). The top half of my hair was orange, and the bottom half was yellow! I decided it might look better if I cut it shorter so it was at least only one colour. Just made it worse. Stuffed a hat on and ran to the nearest salon. Took my hat off, and the whole place burst out laughingThey did the best they could, but I was so glad when it grew out a bit and it was safe to re colour.
Oh god! That sounds like what usually happens when you bleach someone's hair without doing the proper steps: it can burn!I have a kind of horror story, but it wasn't the salon's fault. So I did this to my husband once. I had bought clippers, etc and thought I could cut his hair. I actually used eyebrow pencil to fill in some bald spots. :lol3: That was the last time I cut it. :lol3:That sounds like a terrible haircut!
I don't have one about myself, but when I was in high school one of my friends let his girlfriend cut his hair. The haircut took her three hours since she kept trying to even it and in the end he looked ridiculous. He had to go get a real haircut just to fix it and it still looked bad.
Ahhh! Yes! It makes more sense about the dyes now. I have been very diligent about scalp damage and bleach. I have heard the horror stories like scalp damage and even one of my friends even experienced chunks of her hair falling of due to over dyeing it red, blonde, black, red, blonde, brunette, blonde, she had a different color about every week or soYep, the hairdresser did explain it. The orange was also to do with the number of red based colours that I'd previously used. I was very lucky - because I'd washed the bleach off the moment it felt wrong I avoided any scalp damage. My hair just needed a break from processing and some intensive conditioners for a while.
Edit#2 I've just remembered - it was orange bottom and yellow top. That's makes sooo much more sense with my explanation
@MServantOn hairdressers, I have a great situation: my regular hairdresser loves cats. No 'small talk' there.Just all about fur family. I love having my hair cut too so just as well the chat is good. My hair is rubbish (fine and thin) so most of the time it's really short, and when I have enough money or get it as a present I'll get colour done. And being me, I don't see the point in spending a small fortune on something and no one knowing you've had it done so the less natural the better. Not so sure about the green but I do like the blue @MagiksGirl. I had a similar colour through black a few years back and that looked really nice (I thought). Been bright orange, rusty reds, black, blue black, scarlet red, and black with red streak. Oh, and a rather vibrant orangy pink that got quite a lot of comments (mostly accompanied with laughter). The hair horror comes with the black and red phase - I was going on a very sensible holiday with family and went to get my hair done a couple of days before. I thought the colours looked a bit odd and don't know why I never said anything, anyhow, the hairdresser I went to at the time put the colours on the wrong way round and I had a black streak in the front and the rest was scarlet red....By the time I realized and then got their attention it was a bit late to change it and I decided to go with the flow. Had a good laugh and walked out of the hairdressers with a large bag full of hair product goodies. One thing good about hair is it grows and you get it cut off, and when it's short that doesn't take too long.
