No contractions. She's not interested in it even a little. She knows it's there. I put her in it just so she knows it's there, and she sniffed it and jumped out.
Can you cover half the opening so it is more private and cave like. She may also be ignoring it because her bed is there and already has her scent. In the wild cats don't go into their nest until they are ready to give birth so it doesn't smell and is clean. They don't want to attract predators. Yes, she's an inside cat but still has the same instincts
Ok, I'll remove her bed. I didn't even think about that. I'll try covering it for her. I didn't cut an opening in the box. I'll go ahead and do that for her. I just figured if she wanted in or out, she'd be able to jump in. Because, well she's a cat lol. But i'll make an opening for her.
Ok, I have it flipped on its side now, and half of it is covered. I've noticed on other threads, people suggesting non clumping litter for when the babies are old enough for litter training. What would be the best non clumping litter be?
Ok, great. Thank you. When she goes to have the kittens, would it be ok if my five year old sit in and watch? She knows when to sit still and be calm. We just think this would be a great lesson for her. Also, the kittens are soo active!! She was laying on my belly, and where my belly was touching hers, I felt one of them moving, and I had my hand on her side, and kept feeling one kick repeatedly. It made one big kick, and Little Boo looked at me like, "Did you just feel that!?"
Ok great. She knows when it's time to be quiet and still, so I think she'll understand when it's time, that Little Boo will need the quiet to focus. I will I'm getting super nervous the closer and closer she gets.
Poor mama. She was grooming herself on the trunk that we have at the end of our bed. She tried to groom her other side, and ended up rolling off of it.
She acted like she was embarrassed. I called to her to make sure she was ok, and she just slunk over. She's now laying on my bed, trying to get comfy, but is getting irritated with me, because I won't put my hand on her tummy. Lol.
