I live in NYC in Queens and share my apartment with two friends. A lot of people think I am strange becasue I have cats but to hell with them. As far as I am concerned they are strange for NOT having any cats. I am thinking of adding another addition as soon as I get a job (Hopefully very soon but may have to wait until I pass the bar exam) I really want to get either a maine coon, norweigian forest cat or a ragdoll next. I dont have a lot of room but I have utilized my space very well. The cats stay in my room most of the time because I dont trust my roomates with the door and my one roomate is always spraying poison to kill ants or doing some idiot thing so I feel more comfortale with them in my room but I have a big bedroom, about 200 square feet with two loft beds, one for me and one I built just for the cats to increase their space. I also have 4 cat trees/condo's. Anyway nice to know I am not the only male whose life revolves around my two feline children.
Wonderful Steve!
We should really get married, then we could be Steve and Stevie, perhaps a little confusing, but Hey, what the heck!

Ok ladies, what would we like to know about this lovely gentleman?
For starters:
1) Can you cook?
2) Are you a tidy person?
3) What is a special ritual you have with your cats?

Wohoo! I'm all over this one! (figuratively speaking of course
).I missed Steve's post earlier. and you're kinda close to me too - only a few hours away. So if you don't marry Stevie, then I'm next!

I do have one more question though - can you fix stuff? I'm always breaking things and can't fix them.

#1 Believe it or not YES I can cook. As a matter of fact I actually enjoy it. This week so far I have made Chili, baked a chicken, made meatballs to have with pasta, chicken cutluts with pasta and Linguini with clams sauce. Other recent meals have included Lazy golabki (polish Food), Corned Beef and cabbage with homemade Irish soda bread, and home beef stew made in the crock pot. As you can see I love to cook. the cooking and the cats have some to semi-jokingly question my sexuality but rest assured I am heterosexual.

#2 I am tidy to a reasoanble degree. I am by no means a neat freak but I dont like living in filth either.

#3 Shamus, my 16 pound male has his own ritual, Its called lets do everything we can to wake up dad at 5:30 am. He starts by lightly dragging his extended claws very gently over my face, not enough to do damage but enough to get my attention. Then he startes to walk up and down my body until he gets an appropriate responce. If this doesnt work he he lays down on my side and releases his claws into my shoulder and bicep (without breaking skin) and stays here until I get up to feed him. Max is always very lovable in the morning. He waits to get me up never bothers me like his brother and then when I am feeding his bro he just rools over on his back and wants his belly rubbed not really interested in the food. One of their favorite activites is "helping" me organize. Whenever I clean my closets or go thorugh things they are always close by lending a "helping" hand. As you can see I am not really there owners since they control most of my daily activities. The only thing where I trump their wishes is safety. I am very protective of my feline children.

Hi, Yes, I can fix stuff. (I avoid electrical though/too afraid of burning down the house) I just made a loft bed for my cats to play on actually. Cost me 100 bucks in lumber but it was worth it, the cats love it.

Works for me!

Except we need to check one last thing here - cause Steve sounds too good to be true and you know as well as I do that all the good guys are either married or gay (it's the unfortunate statistics of the single woman's world) - so which is it Steve? Please break the news to us gently.

This is the BEST and most entertaining thread I have come across on tcs.

I thought it was about loving male cats...lol...thanks for making my day.

Too bad I'm married j/k...My husband Kyle is a bigger animal lover than I am now. He wasn't when I met him, but since then, we've taken in 5 cats (4 rescued and found furever homes for) and 2 dogs plus a hamster. Now he's the one cuddling Yen durning the night instead of me LOL!!!

Neither married nor gay. I am short though about 5 feet five inches (we live in a shallow society). Hmmm... How to explain why I am still single. For one, I dont like going out at all. I am a real homebody. When I am done with class or work I go straight home. My life has been in constant limbo. I have been in upper level education for 9 YEARS. I have an AAS in forestry, a BA in Political science and Roman Archaeology, a MLS (masters in library science) and will have my JD in a couple of weeks (Yippee) Needless to say I will have well over 300 college credits so Time has been an issue in the past. The third and most important I have never really looked for a significant other. I have gone out on a few dates but nothing really felt right. Its hard to meet people when your ideal way to spend your weekend it watching the Mets play on TV and hanging out with your cats.

Wow I haven't checked this thread in a few days and look where its gone! Now, Stevie and Lisa you might have to squeeze me in on the rotation with Steve there... he has my number 1 & 2 requirements! Animal lover and intelligent! plus I'm a homebody too, nothing wrong with spending an evening in front of the TV with the kits!

Wow...this is turning into an eharmony for cat lovers....

I can see it now..... "We met on The Cat Site"....Priceless.

Katie

BTW...I completely understand the concept of "no time"....other than working, I am usually volunteering with either the cat/dog rescue group or with the Feral cat spay clinic...which is probably why I am still single.
