I took today as a rest day. I've been working out doing my core de force workouts for 12 days straight and I needed to take a break. It's supposed to be 30 days but I had to take a day off. Back to it tomorrow.
It's a good idea to have a rest day. Gives your muscles time to repair themselves.

I had a long break between classes this afternoon. I thought about going for a walk, but I'm tired. I can feel the good all the extra yoga has done for my hips and lower back, but my legs feel tired. I decided to take it easy and just do a one hour Vinyassa Flow class this afternoon.

Taking a rest day today, too. I might work on my number of floors, but am staying away from the treadmill this morning. Working on laundry, so I'll be going back and forth to the basement.

Saturday -

4 miles on the treadmill

8 of 9 hours with 300+ steps (heading over to my sister's between 5 and 6 last night. Did the steps before 5:00, but they don't really count)

I ended up taking my Fitbit off yesterday morning (didn't want to get yeast dough all over it) and never put it back on, so have no idea what I did. I was pretty much baking all day, so basically walking throughout the kitchen with several floors involved as I was also doing laundry.

That counts! Hauling big loads of laundry up and down the stairs must be good for your upper body strength too.

I did 90 minutes yoga and a 90 minutes walk yesterday.

I started of with a one hour yoga routine to focus on balance this morning. It was hard! I could do all but one of the poses, but holding them takes a lot of strength. My butt feels like it's done some work today.

I only have two students this evening, so I could do an hour of gentle stretching asanas later.

Monday -

2 miles on the treadmill (I'm helping Rick clean his neck and re-bandage every morning and that takes time)

3 miles walked during lunch

7 of 9 hours with 300+ steps (I was getting my hair done between 4 and 6 and those are the last two hours for steps)

I'm wondering if I'm starting to deal with shin splints. When I first start to walk, about a 1/2 mile in, my shins start to ache. Whether I'm on the treadmill or outside. When I stop walking, they feel fine again. And it's both of them, not just one. My hair stylist is also a walker and she said that when she starts walking too much, it happens to her, too. So she slows down to about 3-4 miles a day on fairly level ground until things start to feel better. I may do that for a while. As long as I can get about 15,000 steps in a day, I'm OK with that.

I have a Sole elliptical and don't use it. We got it when I had knee surgery and the doctor told me it would be better for me than the treadmill. I hate the thing. Rick was using it and he gave up on it, too. I'll take my treadmill over the elliptical any day.

The elliptical is in the bedroom and it's way too heavy, bulky and awkward to even try to get it into the basement without taking it apart. So there it is and we use it as a large clothes hanger.

I wish that you and your elliptical become fast friends and that you fall in love with yours! Don't be like me.....use it!

Just finished my day 16 workout. I'm more than half way done my program and it's getting harder. Each week, the workouts get harder and longer. Now, on top of the normal workout, there's either a 5 minute or 15 minute one I have to do too.

An hour of yoga and 30 minutes on my bike today.

I was thinking I might be able to start running again soon as it's March now. Then it started to snow again.

Good work, people! Let's keep going! And Happy March!

I'm sorry about your snow, @Norachan. That just bites. We had some gorgeous days, but March is roaring in like the lion it is. Severe t-storms today and lots of very gusty winds.

Tuesday -

3.5 miles walked during lunch

9 of 9 hours with 300+ steps

I did get to 15,000 steps for the day

Sorry to hear that @foxxycat  You should take it easy if exercise makes you cough or wheeze. It doesn't do your lungs any good to stress them when they're not 100%.

We've got lots of snow this morning and big, fat flakes of it are still coming down. The kindergarten I usually work at has taken a snow day, so I'm free this afternoon.

90 minutes of yoga this morning. Probably going to do about 30 minutes of snow shoveling once it stops

Well, that bites. Hope you're feeling better soon!

3.25 miles on the treadmill

2.5 miles walked during lunch (Started out and got hit with a t-storm, complete with winds; even the umbrella was of no use)

9 of 9 hours with 300+ steps

90 minutes of yoga this morning.

Met up with some friends for coffee this afternoon, so my gossip muscles got a good work-out too.

Thursday -

3.25 miles on the treadmill

2.25 miles walked during lunch (over to the library and back)

9 of 9 hours with 300+ steps

Didn't get a chance on the treadmill this morning (Friday) as we cleaned up some puke; three cats puked up their breakfast.

I am working over lunch so that I can leave work early today.

Got to the gym last night. PACKED and they had half of the equipment flagged to not use.

Elliptical Machine 2.2 miles 25 minutes

only did half my routine

Overhead press, bent over rows and squats.

the squats made my foot ache-so it's definitely a muscle strain pain in my right foot. I only did 55lbs but I think it's more like 25-30 due to it balancing the weights-I asked a couple guys how much the bar weighs and they said 45lb without anything on it-I said no way. I said I can barely overhead press 20lb in each hand. they said it's because it balances the weights so maybe subtract 10-20 lbs from total. I think for now on I will just count the weights I put on the bar. Haven't found an answer to that question. I use the universal machine with the pulleys and those seem true to weight. Anyways it was very busy-I just happened to get lucky with a smith bar machine open. I wanted to use that ab cruncher with weights but each time I went over to use it someone was on it. So I didn't do abs. Will try today at lunch.

The guy next to me was doing crunches on the bench-he was sat up in a v with feet crossed, knees bent and holding a 10lb and then 25lb plate and doing side to side crunches then extending legs out. It looked hard. I probably would fall off if I tried that. anyways I did a few speed sprints on the elliptical machine. Felt good to sweat but didn't like how tired I got...wow I can't believe I used to do 60 minutes in one sitting..so I did a 1/3 of what I normally do. No coughing but this morning woke up with tickle in my throat-tossed back water-not too sore. I can't wait until I get back to where I was and miss the gym empty.

Oh @Winchester  those sneakers are the bomb. So far not bad. I wear ultrathin socks and so far no foot pain. They feel like I walk on air-very cushiony and have a really good arch support. Loving my Brooks Runner shoes!

Good for you! You'll be back on track before you know it.Half of your routine is way better than none of your routine.

Glad you like your sneaks. I've worn nothing but Brooks for several years now and I really like them.

Oooh, that is not good. Is your bedroom ceiling tall enough?

3 miles on the treadmill this morning.

That's going to be hard work! I hope you manage to get it set up somewhere.

I did an hour of yoga yesterday, the difficult Vinyassa flow/balance session. Still difficult.

I did 90 minutes of yoga and then a 90 minute walk today. My legs hurt. I need a long soak in a hot bath, I think.

Keep going everyone.

@Lily Paddy  how did you make out with your elliptical?

3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning.

I think I boogered my knee yesterday, moving furniture around in the computer room. It's hurting. It's the knee that the surgeon repaired the torn meniscus several years ago.
