Okay" so another question lol. Lurk is quite obviously pregnant (nipples, belly bump, sleeping more, morning sickness the other day, the whole 9 yards) but sometimes when my husband is around she'll roll over on her back to get him to rub her belly but she wants him to scratch down by her lady bits between her back legs and if he gets near her with his foot (i.e. walks up behind her or some such) she drops down and pedals her feet like she's in heat which she clearly isn't since she's pregnant and she's not yeowling like she does (she's so loud you can hear her on the next street over) and is completely indifferent to me and my daughter (she isn't while in heat). Is she just weird? I'm not second guessing her being pregnant cause i know she is, I'm just curious if this normal or if she's just some sort of sex crazed lunatic lol.

It's just her hormones. Pregnancy hormones are the same as heat hormones. They are in high gear, and feel the same to her. It's nothing to worry about! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Alright cool lol thank you. I was kinda weirded out haha. Is it just with my husband cause she can smell that he's male? Her oestrus cycles seem to be more vociferous when he's around too so that was what i was thinking the reason was.

i laughed out loud at that. she gets super mad when i touch her belly lol but i think thatmight be because most of the time when i do i'm checking her nipples and having been pregnant myself, i'm pretty sure they're probably pretty sore lol. is it weird that she's already showing? does that mean she'll have a large litter?

How many cans of wet food should i give her per day? Right now I'm doing 1 can a day and her dry kitten food we just cut the front off the bag and lay it on its side so she can get to it whenever (that's how we've always done her food cause she regulates her intake better than we do lol). And should i increase that number when she reaches her third trimester?

She needs as much wet food as she wants, offered 3-4 times a day from now through the weaning of the kittens. Depending on the size of the cans you use, this can be 2-4 cans a day. A dish a day of KMR helps with calcium needs. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

They're 5.5 oz each. I usually put the whole can down for her and it will last her from around 9am to about 6 pm so I'll put another down for her at that time. Thanks again lol.

Do you know the likelihood of the colors the kittens could be based on mama and at least one potential daddy(white with large orange tabby splotches)? Or someone who would on here? I know the males will either be black or grey cause of mom but i don't know about the girls. Obviously it's pure speculation at this point but I'm super curious lol.

I made Lurk a nest.

She hates it lol. And now she's mad at me (every time we're in the same room she glares at me and starts flicking her tail lol) cause i put it where she likes to sleep haha! She'll get used to it though I'm sure. She has 5 weeks and that's her favorite apot in the house.

Well, the white spot gene is very dominant, and if the daddy cat was white with orange spots, its likely that male kittens will be either all black, black & white or white & orange. Females may be black+orange+white (otherwise known as calico). They can also be black, black & white, or black & orange (Tortie) or they can be all orange (fairly rare for a female but can happen) or orange & white. Also, if both parents are carriers of the point gene, you may end up with 1 kitten that looks "Siamese" (although, they would not actually be a siamese cat, just a cat with the pointed pattern) which is otherwise known as the pointed pattern. Pointed kittens are born all white and slowly develop dark spots on their face, ears, paws and tail.

Thanks so much! Her sister actually looks like a snowshoe siamese lol so she does carry the gene. I am so excited to see what the babies look like! I will obviously post pics as soon as i am able after they are born lol

Belle was all black with some white spots and I have no clue what the dad was since we got her pregnant but we got three black with white and three Grey with white. I'm hoping the gray and maybe black one develop stripes too!
