It's all you can do at this point. The contamination has been done, just make sure everyone has had a vaccine at some time or another.

The one who was exposed before the vaccine, that's iffy.

The one with no vaccine ever, get it done ASAP.

I have been in your shoes, holding my breath for 2 weeks hoping that nobody was contaminated.

It's awful, highly contagious, unreal actually. Lies silently and waits for a victim.

OMG I AM FREAKING OUT.. YOU MENTIONED DISHES..  I know this sounds bad but i have a bad habit of feeding my cats off my plate when i am done eating. leaving them a little to get for a treat..  and feeding them with my hands sometimes with treATS and me and my girls are bad for giving KISSES  on face on mouth nose just putting our mouths on them period.! can this in any way be transmitted to humans..  I SWEAR THIS GETS MORE AND MORE DISTURBING AS THE DAY GOES BY.. I,M SCARED TO ASK ANYTHING ELSE..
No, it's a cats only thing.

Be sure to call the store before you go and make sure they have this vaccine in stock.  My local one does.  I'm using it for annual boosters on my own cats, who do go out.  There are others around and I have used this to vaccinate the tame ones that come to my porch but I can't vaccinate the feral boy.  Just make sure everyone is vaccinated, and if it was more than a year ago, do it again.  It doesn't hurt to repeat it.  It may be a waste but better safe than sorry.  If you vaccinate now and she's still fine in two weeks, yes, I would say she is safe.

I did pull an adult cat from a shelter through panleukopenia many years ago.   She was a lovely silver persian, and I brought her home.  I knew all my cats were vaccinated, and none of them got it.  We got her through it with antibiotics, fluids, and I think steroids.  It was many years ago and I don't completely remember, but it did work.

Feline Distemper, or panleukopenia, is a highly contagious viral disease that affects all members of the feline family. It also affects raccoons, mink and coatimundis. Kittens are the most susceptible, and its occurrence is often linked to kitten season......

The panleupkopenia virus is a member of the parvovirus group. Another member of this family is well known as the cause of the deadly parvo disease in dogs. The diseases are particularly problematic because the virus is very difficult to kill and can persist in the environment for over a year. Fortunately for shelters, bleach is one of the most inexpensive yet effective means of neutralizing it. It can be diluted 1 part bleach to 32 parts water to make it safe to use around cats yet still effective. If bleach is not used, make certain that the disinfectant being used is tested and labeled as parvocidal.

http://Transmission

The virus is spread by direct oral contact between infected cats or with their excretions, including feces, urine, saliva and vomit. Fleas may also transmit it during the acute or early stage of the disease. Fomites (contaminated objects) are another means of disease transmission. Common fomites include hands, clothing, food and water dishes, litter pans, bedding, etc. The incubation period, or period between contact with the virus and the appearance of symptoms ranges from 3-10 days.

If your resident cats are vaccinated then they are fine.

However, you are now unable to bring any unvaccinated cats to your home for at least 18 months.

Any kittens brought need to have had 2 consecutive vaccines and at least 5 days after the second one was given to give their systems a chance to build the immunity to this ugly, deadly virus.

Most common exposure is from grass outdoors in homeless/stray cats.

If mom had got it during her pregnancy and any survived they would be born with cerebellar hypoplasia. So this was caught during or after the birthing.

It takes about 7 days to surface symptoms.

They will likely lose all kittens.

Just hoping mom can get well and okay, poor thing :(

Sad all around.

Yes mom may have picked it up at the vet, she was already sick though correct? If she picked it up on her fur she would have passed it to her kids that way.

It wouldn't be coming from the strays outside, or they would be sick and disappearing.

They have less chance of getting it due to outdoor exposure actually, but if any can be vaccinated I'd be sure to do it in case.

ANY vaccines given in the past will protect the adults.

As long as the vaccines are modified live virus vaccines. Be sure you ask about this when purchasing.

It will say MLV. That is what is mostly used these days so they likely will be.

And don't apologize for too many questions, this is a big deal and I'm glad you are taking it seriously.
Yes, this is a Modified Live Vaccine.  Here is a photo of what the package of an individual dose looks like.    scroll down, the photo has a lot of white space
Thanks I am going to take a pic on my phone so i will see your comment in what to ask and picture to show them what i need..

No one has any vaccine anywhere..  Every store is out..  I haven’t even went to bed yet I am still trying . Even called the manufacturer! I may have to wait till they get some in and they all said they didn’t know when should be weekly for one store n the other said they don’t know they stay out of stock a while on that. If you know any other place I can buy this would be so very grateful. I am at a dead in cause I don’t have that kinda money to pay a vet bill. But I can get those over counter ones. Just spent a lot on mom cat n her babies then the youngest one went for fixing and vac right after  so I’m on a tight budget . Any info on another store would be appreciated.

How many do you need?  I will see if our store still has them and I could overnight you a cold pack.  I could send you invoice via PayPal after I know what shipping will cost.  You can pay with credit card or debit card.

I just checked my fridge and I still have three left, and they expire mid-May, but no problem if you are using them instantly.  I could ship this afternoon and you would have by tomorrow.

2 for now let me know how much this is insane everyone out of stock here for miles n miles,,,
Actually the intra-nasal vaccines do commonly run out during kitten season.

The standard vaccines given with a needle should be available still.

UC Davis says 3 days after vaccine they are protected.

How long ago were the infected cats there?

PLEASE EXCUSE MY CAPS MY SIGHT IS TERRIBLE,

ITS BEEN WELL OVER 5 WEEKS SINCE I BROUGHT STRAY INSIDE

AND SHE REMAINED INSIDE NEVER GOING OUT BUT TO THE VET FOR THOSE 4 DAYS AND RETURNED TO INSIDE ..

I WOULDN'T THINK THIS VIRUS IS THE  CAUSE OF HER LITTER DIEING OFF.

WOULDN'T ANY OF OUR CATS HAVE BEEN AT THE LEAST SICK BY NOW OR DIED INCLUDING THE MOMMA WHO THEY SUPPOSEDLY GOT IT FROM??

ONLY HER LITTLER DIED ONE BY ONE THERE IS ONLY  ONE LEFT ALIVE AT RESCUE.

i DONT THINK THEY CAUGHT THIS FROM MOM NOR THEIR RESCUE I THINK ITS SOMETHING GENETIC OR DUE TO HER HORRIFIC COMPLICATION GIVING BIRTH.

SHE PUSHED HARD AND CONSTANT OVER 4 DAYS LONG THAT I KNOW OF ANYWAY COULD HAVE BEEN LONGER.

SO MOM WAS IN MAJOR DISTRESS FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME YAH KNOW.

WHICH IS WHY I TOOK HER IN TO BEGIN WITH. IT HAS TO BE SOMETHING ELSE. THIS CANT BE POSSIBLE CAN IT?

ALL WERE SUPPOSEDLY TO BE "EXPOSED" A PERIOD OF OVER 5 WEEKS LONG ..

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS/OPINIONS IF I MAY ASK?

Her and her babies were at your house 5 weeks ago??

How long has the one baby been still alive since the other babies died?

Isn't mom still sick too?

Do you happen to know what the symptoms of the kittens were before they died?

I'm feeling confused.

OK , Mom cat was a stray who hung around since bout a year. and she got pregnant being out there as strays do. And i would see her come to front door and meow and she would go un back my house. lay down and open he legs and start pushing . almost like she was calling me to see. but she didnt want me too close. next day some thing . after 3 days i got her inside and tried to do the best i could and help her. day for comes i decided ok your going to VET if u dont pass these! thats when i noticed she had a huge compacted bowel build up and thats what was blocking the babies all the time. so i help her maneuver them babies out cause omg 4 days of pushing?! soon as i knew it wasnt a big baby issue i started doing things i don't even know to get them babies out and mom poor thing didnt mind at that point .. 6 babies r born. one born dead.. next day i see she can not possibly pass this huge mass of bowel so brought to vet, they cleaned her put her on antibiotics kept her 4 days to observe to make sure she could pass a bowel and brought her home. Right back "Indoors". she went to tend to babies i didnt find she had any milk.. asked vet he said oh yeah she is probly full bout now let her feed.. she had no milk or so little u couldnt find it. babies did suckle and i continued bottle feeding as i was while she was gone. i figured suckling on mom was best and i made sure i fed them too. another one dies.  Almost a week after another so i am done at this point. get rescue to take babies so i can tend to mom cat cause she still not making bowel movement. put on Miralax. worked so great. Dummy me thinking ok she should be normal again by now stopped two  days and BAM even worse compaction .. i call rescue for her cause she obviously needs more extensive care that i can not give her. and its been over two weeks their all gone and got news another two babies died one left and vet says cause of death is this here.. And Mom cat still suffering constipation  and rectum issues from pushing so many days it caused her rectum to push out . the day i  joined this sight was the 6th of april.. she gave birth bout  a week prior to that. thats 5 weeks! i dont think its possible to have this and still not be sick or dieing  , I wouldnt think anyway.. something isnt right. i have a few cats that were unvac and brought the youngest get vac n chipped n fixed 2 weeks ago when mom left n i had the time. still two other my cats yet to get vac yet so all these unvac cats including the mom cat is still alive and healthy well besides her constipation thingy.. its gotta be something else. i hate saying a vet wrong but that virus couldnt possibly been here in my home exposed to all these unvac animals n not one fall sick yet?
