She is letting me pet her! She picked up the kittens and moved them to a corner and went back to her blanket. Then she meowed and rolled over onto her back like an invitation. I am rubbing her belly!! She is still panting and I can feel something , it is not moving but feels like a mass on the right side . So I'm just massaging her do you think she could have feline HIV or leukemia I know that can cause stillborns

It's possible she has something. Or it could just be bad luck. Awesome she is letting you rub her. She is trusting you! She must be desperate to get this over with. This last kitten needs to come out. If not she will need it removed by c-section asap before she goes down with it. Do you have a regular vet you can see if necessary who deals with cats? Hopefully your tummy rubs will help this one to come out. This whole situation is just awful.

The fact she moved her kittens to a corner tells me she knows they are dead. This is sad, but good. She needed to do that.

Keep me posted. I'm up with another poster too. I have to take two of my own 12-week-old kittens in for spay/neuter early in the morning! I'll let you know when I go to bed.

I am heading to bed for a few hours. Will check in with you early am. Hope all is well in the barn. Love your lifestyle choice by the way!

She did have one more . This one looked so plump and healthy but was also floppy. I rubbed for ten minutes and even used an eye dropped to try and suction anything out. I left kitten with her last night and when I checked this morning she had eaten it. I suppose that's the way of the wild.
The spay neuter people we use aren't open today so I'm going to let her eat and sleep today and hopefully be able to bring her in tomorrow. My only concern is how I'm going to get her.... She won't fall the traps but she is very vey apprehensive of me today. I don't see any blood or discharge and although she seemed stressed out I'm almost positive it's because and figured out she can't leave the barn.

Wow! That was a big litter for a feral cat. They all seemed so full-term too, so whatever happened must have occurred in the last couple of days. I am glad she did not need a c-section. She doesn't know it but she needs to let her body rest. She is probably wary now that she's stuck in the barn. How to trap her? Can you set up a trap and see if she goes in? Otherwise, I'll put on my thinking cap.

This whole thing is sad. I wonder if maybe it's a genetic thing. I wish I was able to see if I could have felt them move before she went I to labor. They really did all look full term. It stinks not having answers! My kids buried the other give today and put a big rock there. I notice a feral cat in our pasture by I can't see if it's a clipped one or not. I will be quite upset if it's a male already hanging around. She is fighting to get out of the barn, howling and a scratching and climbing. I brought food to here but she kept hissing at me so she's not happy at all.

Oh, boy. It's probably a mate or friend who knows she's locked up. What time did she deliver the last one? I wish we knew answers too. It almost sounds like they were overdue - that labor did not commence in time. Her water and the sacs were so dark, and once it burst, it seems that perhaps meconium got into the sacs. It is heartbreaking. Still glad that she is okay and that you could be with her.

Your van spays on Sundays? You think if you can trap her she can be spayed tomorrow?

Wondering if you are able to pick up something to sedate her long enough to get her in a crate. If she would drink it if you put it in her milk?

What are your ideas?

She had the last one at 1 am.
Monday the van is open ! This whole ordeal has altered my sense of time. That means I'll hAve to keep her all night and day tomorrow too. The sedation is a really good idea. I wonder if I put it in something cats can't resist she would take it. I honestly was just going to use a net and grab her and put her in a crate which seems traumatic for everyone involved.

If necessary, its the way to go.  Wrapped up in a net or a thick towel, they tend to cease resistance.  Especielly if head is also covered.

Much better than try and held them by raw force, catch as catch can.  THAT would be traumatic.

You would need to be careful what you give her, but she will eventually be hungry enough to wolf a can of food, after she digests all the placentas. Either way you do it, you might want to cover the crate with something, as long as there is air. They tend to be calmer, as Stefan said, when they can't see out. The less trauma the better, as she has already been through a lot. And if you choose sedation, get it from a vet so that it is safe for cats. If you crate her ahead of time, you would need to put a litter pan and food and water in the crate with her. I know you need to figure this out. Hopefully she will calm down some in the barn.

So sad, seeing this thread. I was hoping for a better outcome. I do thank you for caring for her and helping her. I am surprised that she did not get blood poisoning from having the kittens given that they were in a bad state when born. It will do her good to have her spayed. I agree with StefanZ. She may need a little time to think things through as this has been so very traumatic for her and all involved really.

She is howling to get out so bad the other animals are startled. She almost bolted out when I went in. I think I'm just going to catch her with the net tomorrow night for Monday morning.

Catch when you can, if you have an occasion. Being semiferal, she is used to hide in a hole even more than 24 hours.  As long as she isnt freezing or being very hot, she manage.

Not necessarily the optimale, but better than you stress yourself  waiting to the last possible moment...

As said, if you have an occasion, catch her with net / towel, and put into this cage,  covering the cage so its as a nice, safe holey for her.   Who knows, seh may even enjoy it.

Warm hugs to you, and a deep Tx!

Whatever works. Poor thing. Maybe she will tire herself out and go to sleep for awhile. She must be scared to death. And I know you are exhausted from all of this! Are you still feeding her, and is she eating it?

Poor kitty. My heart goes out to her. Do cover the crate once you catch her. It will help calm her. But leave one end open for air and for her to see out. Hang in there!

Making your cupcakes will seem like a ... well, piece of cake after this ordeal! :)
