i know i don't post much but laurie keeps me up on pretty much everything (i think) , and i just wantd to take a moment to thank everyone so much for all your good thoughts and support for lazlo and for us as we go through this process. i was completely devastated , well we both were, when we first heard the news and they completely freaked us out. lazlo was our first indoor only rescue baby boy and he's my buddy. i know that we are getting him the care he needs but i know that all your good thoughts, paryers and vibes are helping him do as well as he is! i feel so very grateful for each and every one of you thinking of my (our) baby boy as we go through this process, gary

Awww Gary!!!

We love Lazlo so much!! He is our little kitty hero! Our little fighter, and my personal kitty model! Gosh, I just love that little boy like one of my own! I am sure I speak for many of us, if not all of us, when I say that we think about him every day, and we send him vibes every day - I know I do. I brush away his cancer, all the way from Dallas!! And little by little it is working isn't it?

You and Laurie are the most amazing kitty-parents in the whole World
. There is a say that you can judge a person's character by the way they treat the animals - well.... there you go - say no more. You guys are beyond amazing, and Lazlo, Chum-chumley, Flowerbelle, and your other fur-kids could never be in better hands.

I am not a religious person, and don't necessarily believe in God - I believe in the possibility of one.... but if there is one, he/she hand picked you guys to be these babies care-takers for a reason.

Thank you for all you do for them.........
Thank you for teaching us, everyday, to have hope and strength, and to never, ever ever give up.
You guys are the BEST ever!!

HI Gary!!!!
At first I didn't know who this "Shelly's dad" was
. But after the first sentence I got it
And Shelly's Dad makes perfect sense. So cool
to see your post
I really love
Lazlo too and just BEAM
with smiles when I hear good reports and how famously he is pulling through this whole ordeal. Lazlo is an inspiration and very much loved here on TCS

...
I second all of the above, you two are an amazing couple of folks. And I'll add - it's good to hear from you, Gary! Gosh, I almost feel like you guys are family, we've gone through so much together!
Lazlo is in the best place he could be.

Sending lots of continued thoughts and get-well vibes!!!

Much love and vibes to Lazlo, I've missed the whole thing as you and Gary and Lazlo went through it, but I'm thinking of him now and glad to hear how well he's doing.

Just a bit of a rant (again!). I LOVE this vet, but I HATE this "drop your cat off for the ultrasound" thing. !!!!!!! The local vet has a high res machine, and for any future cats that need an ultrasound, sorry, but we're taking the business where we can make an appointment.

Each time we drop off Laz, everyone tells us, "it's usually in the morning." Well, once again, he's not going to be seen until the afternoon. And exactly why did we have to drop him off between 7:30 and 8:00am if the mobile unit usually calls them between 9:30 and 10:00 to let them know when they'll be there?

I'm grateful they don't charge us for the day spent in the animal hospital... but it's their normal practice to do that. Why the customer should have to pay for that when it's their service that can't even nail down whether they'll be there in the morning or afternoon is beyond me.

But depending upon today's results, we're seriously considering going ahead and having future ultrasounds done on a different machine, because this sucks.

Sorry, but thanks for "listening."

He's supposedly going to have the ultrasound done between 2:00 and 2:30. I'm guessing we'll leave to be there by 2:30 and just sit around and wait if he's not done by then.

I am a bit "on fire" LOL over just hearing this. WHY WHY didn't they tell you that you could drop him off after 9:30 then
. I think they should be much more compassionate about their clients and their pets and bend the rules a bit on a case by case basis. And I wonder why the vet who drives in with the machine to do the ultrasounds can't as a courtesy the day before call with a "ball park" figure on the time of their arrival
How hard could that be
.

I am ranting right along side of you on this
. And, of course, you should absolutely NOT have to pay for a day's board at the vet for something like this. I think I would blow a fuse if they charged for that

I am just sorry (on top of everything else with sweet Lazlo) that they make ultrasound day so stressful for all of you
Keeping up those MASSIVE ENORMOUS vibes for an excellent ultrasound result today

I know, I HATE HATE HATE that too.... The worst was when I brought Bugsy in for his dental @ 7:30 am, he was fasting all night, waiting all day...... and they had to re-schedule because they overbooked themselves! They called me to tell me this 5pm! I WAS FURIOUS!

I got there I did not speak to Kelly, to anyone - fetched Bugsy and left as If I said something it was going to be bad, VERY bad!

It took me 2 weeks to reschedule the dental again, only when they promised me he was going to be the very first patient and I knew he was completely over the cage stress. Bugsy is very sensitive to stress, and after a stressful situation brought on an UTI, I am extra careful with it - I am still dealing with the consequences of it.....

Anyways......here I go with my bla bla bla, huh?

Laurie, hang in there my dear - it is all for a good cause - which is...... PHENOMENAL results!!!!

I have no doubt in my mind this is going to be fantastic

Just can't can't can't wait to hear from you!

Much love, hugs and calming vibes going your way!!

Well this is nuts. Gary's furious. We're here at the animal hospital... the ultrasound guy hasn't been here and isn't here yet. "Patience" is not in Gary's vocabulary right at the moment. He's on the phone with the owner of the local vet, talking about getting this done there tmorrow - or whenever - this week. Given the ultrasound guy should be here within an hour or so at most, I say we stick it out this time. But I suggested we call before we left.
Don't know what happens next... Stay tuned for "ultrasound drama."

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can only imagine now the stress you have on your back, Laurie
. Trying to calm Gary even though you want to go through the roof at that place. AWWWW sweetie... Why the "H" couldn't they have called you
to let you know there was this delay. DEEP BREATH, and I really hope this does get done today and Gary can somehow wait as you are already there and have spent this WHOLE day waiting for this ultrasound
......SO SORRY........ I really, really am sending gigantic calming vibes to you, and tons of hugs. You and Gary sure don't need this and neither does poor Lazlo. He will be alright... He really will. But this is just not fair to you or Lazlo, and it is just not right

Well, hang in there as you always do..... Will wait to here how it is going

Hi there,
Laurie's internet is really bad, and she is unable to post this right now.... So I am updating the thread as much as I can.
The results are kind of inconclusive until tomorrow - well, at least they are not readable

It was a different tech, and the notations were done completely differently. All the terminology was different, and the reading was impossible to decipher.
The mass originally was about 8cm long. Last time, it was 7.18x2.6cm. The woman in the office started to tell Laurie that this time it was 4.03x4.15cm.... then stopped... as it made no sense.
Laurie read and re-read the tech sheet- she could only make out a few things:
1- There was definitely a 4
2-It said something about nodules
3- it said something about "complete loss of something"

She said there was a whole bunch of measurements, and none said "gastric mass" - which was the terminology used on the other one.

Also, nodules, is a new thing, that is in this one, and was not in the prior US.

Her doctor has to call the tech tomorrow, if the tech is not off, to clarify this reading before sending it to the oncologist.

Laurie's guess is that the US is not comparable because of the tech, and that they will need a do over next week where they will have the same tech and the same machine to compare with.

She said she saw all kinds of lumpy things and dots - some are lymph nodes - apparently his esophageal lymph nodes are enlarged. (for all we know, this can just be scar tissue from all the ulcers - nodules are usually benign)

Now...........
From ALL this, here is what we know for SURE:

There was definitely a 4

So, knock on wood, his tumor has shrunk by 1/2! All the rest we will only know tomorrow or with another US.
