I like the fat free, sugar free chocolate fudge pudding for a sweet treat. There are some low point ice cream bars that are really good, too. Angel food cake is also really low in points.

The white chili recipe is on the way.

Here's what I'm making tonight:

Chicken Tikka Masala
POINTS: 7

2/3 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tsp ginger root, fresh, grated
2 medium garlic clove(s), minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 pound uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 2-inch chunks
2 tsp olive oil
1 medium garlic clove(s), minced
1 small jalapeno pepper(s), minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
8 oz canned tomato sauce
1 cup fat-free evaporated milk
1/4 cup cilantro, fresh, chopped
2 cup cooked white rice, basmati, kept hot

To prepare chicken, in a large bowl, whisk together first seven ingredients; add chicken and toss to coat. Cover bowl and marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour and up to 24 hours.

Preheat outdoor grill, stovetop grill pan or nonstick skillet.

Skewer chicken pieces onto four metal or wooden skewers. Grill or cook skewers in a hot skillet until chicken is cooked through, turning frequently, about 5 to 7 minutes. (Make sure to soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent charring.)

To make sauce, heat oil in a large, high-sided skillet (or wide saucepan) over medium heat. Add remaining minced garlic clove and jalapeno; cook, stirring occasionally, 1 minute. Add remaining teaspoon of cumin and paprika and stir to coat. Add tomato sauce and evaporated milk, reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Remove grilled chicken from skewers. Add to tomato mixture and simmer 1 minute to heat through. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro. Serve with rice. Yields about 1 cup of chicken mixture and 1/2 cup of rice per serving.

We talked about that at our meeting this week. I'm thinking of taking salsa and carrot chips to dip in the salsa.

chelle, just make sure that you have plenty of good stuff that you like to eat, and it won't be so bad. Last year, I brought to the party we went to a big plate of nachos with the baked tortilla chips, loads of black beans and veggies, and some lowfat cheese. It was so yummy that everybody, even the guys, went nuts for it...and I wasn't so tempted by the bad stuff.

Definitely have something you can nibble on so you can satisfy your habits. Also, have a good healthy breakfast that morning. Brush your teeth really good before everyone comes over so you aren't so inclined to eat right away.

I would also suggest putting the bowls of chips someplace other than directly in front of you. Then serve yourself on small plates. This helps you pay attention to how much you are eating.

I'm kinda upset..I gained 2 pounds

My meeting is tomorrow because they chaned it
due to the weather.
I have been so good at watching my portion
sizes and eating more fruits and veggies.
I think it may have to due with "Cabin Fever"
I hate this time of year, because it's so cold
out that i haven't been walking for 2 weeks.
I can't wait til spring

I haven't gained but I also haven't lost in 3 weeks. The weather does make it hard. What I don't get (for myself) is that I'm not tracking my activity points and I dance 2-4 times a week so I'm eating less points that I would "technically" get and I still seem to be plateued! After only 7 lbs?!

That's why I ended up quitting last year. I plateaued after only about 9 pounds, and my leader was more interested in herself than trying to help me. I hope your leaders have some ideas. Been drinking your water?

I don't have a leader... I'm doing it on my own. D'uh! Ya know, when I weighed Wed. I thought to myself that I hadn't been drinking as much water as I usually do. Maybe that's what "went wrong".

First things I would check is 6 glasses of water a day, 5 servings of fruits & veggies, and eating enough points so your body doesn't shut down.

The other possibility that comes to mind is that if you tend to eat the same foods all the time it can slow down your metabolism. Your body learns to anticipate and adjusts to it. Sometimes just changing things up a bit can break a plateau.

This week my leader told a story about a lady who went for three weeks without losing any weight. She drank all her water, ate all her points, and ate her veggies. She couldn't think of anything she did wrong. The only thing she did "differently" was that she didn't go to Wendy's and have a hamburger with her co-workers like she used to. So she decided to go out and have one hamburger that week - and she lost 3 pounds...

My DH and i were talking about weight last night and he
asked me a good question, one that got me thinking.
He asked how do you determine how many calories
a person who is dieting should have a day.

Anyone know how to determine this?

I'm not sure exactly but it's some combination of your current weight, your target weight and your daily level of activity I think.

I wonder if there is a website that can determine
how many calories a person should have a day
to lose weight...I'd also wanna know what my
BMI is.

I found the WW cookbook but they wanted
$38.00 for it but didn't have the money to get it.
They have some really good recipes in there
