This is a really tough problem, I feel bad for you. About 2 weeks ago I had a problem with my cat very suddenly not using her litterbox and the vet suggested I use Dr. Elsey's Cat Attraction litter and it worked. Have not had a problem since. Maybe you could try it. Just for your info, I got...
Thanks, Susan, at this point I'm so grateful that she's using the litter instead of my rug, that I'm not going to complain about it. I'll get used to it. :hyper:
Hi,
I'm sorry this is happening to you, I know exactly what you're going through, I started the thread about my cat suddenly deciding she's too good for the litter box. Some of the answers there might help you. I have the same issues as you, my beloved cat died from pancreatitis on Dec. 3...
Thank you everyone for the responses. To be honest, I didn't see them, but in answer to some questions, I have two litter boxes, both large and open and was keeping them both spotless, using Fresh Step litter and changing both twice a week. This didn't help, my cat used the living room rug...
Thank you so much for your response! I'm using NonScents to clean the area, I like it much more than Nature's Miracle. Also, thank you for reminding me about Feliway, a friend had suggested it a few years ago for another cat's anxiety. I can't imagine her being stressed, my husband and I are...
Hi
Last December my husband and I adopted a 3 year old Siamese cat. She was a perfect little angel until about two weeks ago when she started leaving her calling card in the living room. I don't think she pees on the rug, but she does leave #2 on the living room rug. She has two big litter...
I lost my much loved cat Dec. 3, to pancreatitis. My husband said the pain of losing her was awful and he didn't want another cat for at least 6 months. Last week we saw a photo of an adorable cat that looked just like her, and this cat was up for adoption. Guess who changed his mind on...
Hi.
I just adopted an adorable cat last night. She's very, very sweet and loves to be petted, but we keep getting static shocks. She gets scared and runs away. Both my husband and I experience this with her, I'm sure it's because it's very cold out, but does anyone know how to prevent this??
I use the jumbo litter box liners. I just started using them and wish I'd known about them years ago. They're great, I just pick up the liner with the dirty litter inside and put it in a double garbage bag. I thought the cats might not like it but they don't even know it's there.
My deepest condolences. I lost my sweet girl to pancreatitis earlier this month. It hurts so much it's hard to breathe sometimes, but we'll get through this.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm giving her whatever it is straight from the vet's IV drip. I'm assuming it's water mixed with other things, but you're right, maybe it's saline solution. Whatever it is, it's working beautifully. I'd never give my girl anything that the vet didn't approve of.
Hi - I've been giving my cat fluid under the skin with a needle for a few days. She tolerates it well, but she seems to shake while the water is being inserted. We use room temperature water, directly from the bag given to us by our vet. I won't be able to speak to him until Monday, but I just...
I know a lot of people say Miralax should be mixed with water, but I don't normally do that. I just sprinkle it into my cat's food every day. She doesn't even know it's there. It usually works within 12 hours, and for my cat, it works very well. If she's very constipated and the Miralax...
Yeh you could do that. I have to do it sometimes with my cat, not for Miralax but for pills. You could put a little in a syringe and mix it well with water and just squirt it in his mouth, I think that would be fine. However, if kitty won't take it that way, could you feed him separately from...
Also, Jane, if the Miralax doesn't work and your vet wants to give the kitty an enema, try the Fleet Glycerine enema. You can buy it yourself at a drugstore and ask the vet to use it. It works pretty well and doesn't have all those nasty chemicals that other enemas have. Good luck!
I would suggest maybe 1/4 teaspoon sprinkled in her food with a little warm water. That might sound like a lot but she may need this amount because she is already constipated. You should probably call the vet before you give it to her, or look on an animal health website. Every day I give my...
