Cat purposely pressing down on his throat

Nope, no solution. Es still doing this and does it pretty much at least once a day. Have taken him to a new vet this past month who told me that in 30+ years of practice he had never heard of a cat doing this. He checked his throat for growth and irritation and there was nothing there and his...

Cat purposely pressing down on his throat

Yes. He's been kinda stuffed up/congested since November when he was coughing and was all phelgmy sounding. The vet put him on steroids and antibiotics for a couple weeks and he got over his cough, but I don't think he's ever fully shaken the cold/URI and the congestion... I take him with me to...

Cat purposely pressing down on his throat

What do you mean by "a tie back in the throat"? I am wondering if maybe he didn't swallow a piece of string from his toy...? There's a strong toy in cat tree, which he's already destroy, but the string was still there and he played with it occasionally, and I noticed last night that half the...

Cat purposely pressing down on his throat

I have not yet. But when he first started doing this back in December, I told the vet and showed her a video and he had a chest x-ray done and there was nothing there. The vet and I suspect he had a URI back at the end of November/beginning of December when he was coughing up a storm and first...

Cat purposely pressing down on his throat

Hey everyone, So, my cat has been doing this for a few months now, but he had stopped and now he's doing it again and I wanted to see if anyone else had had their feline companion do this. My cat goes and finds the edge of something (right now he's using the lowest rung of my clothes dryer...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Good news!! I gave Sherlock his third yolk today and he ate it all without ANY fortiflora (except for the very little bit and I enticed him to finish it with just a tiny sprinkle)!! He was so excited to have it, too. LOL!    And he seems much more active than he's been. And it doesn't seem like...

Black spots and furr loss on hind legs

Hi everyone! My cat seems determined to get every system in his body sick before his first birthday. First it was his respiratory system, then his gastrointestinal system, and now his skin. 2-3 weeks ago I realized that he was missing a little patch of fur on the back of his left hind leg...

    Vets and raw

I got the lecture from my vet too. I went in there while my cat was sick (pretty sure it was a URI but all he was doing was coughing and no runny nose/eyes/fever so who knows really) and asked her what she thought about feeding raw and got a whole lecture about how she doesn't recommend it...

    Automatic feeders and feeding raw

Hello savvy raw feeders!  As some of you may know, I am slowly transitioning my kitty Sherlock back onto raw food after a week of non-stop regurgitation that was mostly likely onset by hairballs (thank you to everyone who commented on the other thread -- HUGE help!).   I also suspect he eats...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Aha!!! That make A LOT more sense    I caught Sherlock in the bathroom behind the door yesterday licking his lips again.   Hopefully a course of the slippery elm bark and continuous egg yolk will help.

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Happy report that Sherlock has decided the idea of raw egg yolk is a WONDERFUL one. I went to crack his egg today and he came running like his tail was on fire when he heard it crack.   It was kinda hilarious. He refused to eat it until I had sprinkled some fortiflora on it, but then he goggled...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Question!! Do you sprinkle the egg yolk lecithin every day, even those when you give a whole egg yolk? And do you recommend I sprinkle 1/2 a capsule and see if that helps him? I guess I might know if it helps with the nausea... I just gave Sherlock his second yolk sprinkled with some fortiflora...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

I am not confident enough to feed Sherlock WPM. I'm still working on getting the confidence in the ground food I make him. But maybe one day I'll get there. I feel like I would need a whole lot of hand holding to do WPM. On that note, I can't wait to get Sherlock back on raw food if only so his...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Do you add meat juice to make it appetizing to the kitty? And what do you mean by meat juice, exactly (like broth?)? I'll go get all of this during the weekend when I'm not coming home at 7pm to a starving cat.   For now I'll add this to his food, but once I switch back to raw, you recommend I...

HELP!! Regurgitation and raw food (sorry for the long post)

Yes, you mentioned it briefly. Is there a particular brand you use? I wonder if I can find that in a store like Whole Foods or if I should just get it online. I should give him 1/4 teaspoon or tablespoon mixed with the tablespoon of boiling water? And should I mix it with his food? How do you do...
