    Sophia's Health Failing

When I joined this site 10 years ago, I didn't think I'd be posting something like this in 10 years. But I'm not sure what other conclusion to come to. My 11-year old bengal started vomiting a week ago. Had hyper salivation. Lethargic, etc. At one point, she had what I'd call an episode where...

At Our Wits End With Urine Marking

    Both our bengals were rescues.

At Our Wits End With Urine Marking

We're completely out of ideas. My wife and I have tried everything with our 11-year old bengal, Draper. Enzyme cleaners, moving the litter box, adding litter boxes, multiple types of litter, feliway diffusers, and even have him on fluoxetine to reduce his stress. And nothing seems to work...

    Low white blood cell count

One other thing I forgot to mention, both our cats our indoor kitties and have been for at least 6+ years.

    Low white blood cell count

Anyone experienced anything like this? From my initial research, it looks like FIV and FeLV are possible, but those are both associated with other symptoms she's not showing. Is there any chance it's something she can fight through?

    Low white blood cell count

Hoping I can get some insight on this.  I took my 8-year old bengal to the vet this past weekend for what was diagnosed as some periodontal issues (pawing at her mouth after eating was the main reason I took her in). They gave me some antibiotics and pain meds, and we scheduled a visit for some...

Cat hissing at other cat after vet visit

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me.  Yesterday, we took our 8-year old bengal to the vet for a dental checkup (she's got some periodontal issues). Last night, our other 9-year old male bengal started hissing at her every time he smelled her. I've done some cursory research...

    Terrified of bringing baby home

Thanks all. For the most part, the cats seemed pretty accepting of the strange smells I've brought home the last two days (wife is in the hospital until Thursday) which I imagine, is a good start. They also seem pretty unfazed by sound (I have a playlist of baby sounds/crying that I play inside...

    Terrified of bringing baby home

So first, the good news - my wife delivered a beautiful baby girl yesterday. She's precious, healthy and, well, loud (as most babies are). Which brings me to the part I'm worried about - our fur babies. We have two bengals (7 and 8 years old) with big personalities and they're already skittish...

    Cat cleaning itself in sink?

So, my bengal (Sophia) started a new quirk that I wanted to check into. She's always loved drinking water from the kitchen faucet, but recently, she's started to stand underneath the water and let the water run on her back/shoulder. She'll then clean that area at the same time while...

    Removing feces odor from couch?

On the NokOut site, it only lists they have their spray for, "non-food, hard surfaces" that doesn't include couches or furniture. The listing is here: http://www.nokout.com/16-oz-Nok-Out.html They also have the carpet cleaner. Will either of these work on a couch?

    Removing feces odor from couch?

Not sure if this is the right section to post this in, but since it has to do with my cat's bad behavior, it seemed like a fit. Anyway, one of our cats pooped on our microfiber couch about a week ago. Yeah. Long story. We removed it relatively quickly, but cannot seem to get the odor completely...

    Sick Bengal -- please read

Well, this started before I was even giving her wet food (it was about a month before that she last had wet food). She's still pretty active and peppy as of today, but did throw up again just a little bit last night. I'm starting to wonder if it's a bad hairball or something she can't pass...

    Sick Bengal -- please read

Well, Sophia's energy level is definitely up today which is great. Funny, how her level of health is directly correlated with her level of annoyance, too (she likes to bat at every loud thing in our bedroom to wake us up..). She's also eating her dry food which is good. For the last week, I was...

    Sick Bengal -- please read

Wow, well, now I feel even more confused. I guess I trust my vet, but the reason he said it's something G.I. related was because she was vomiting and not showing any upper respiratory symptoms like coughing, sneezing, etc. She's eating fairly normally but ever since she originally became sick...

    Sick Bengal -- please read

UPDATE part II: Not sure what this means, but she seems to have quite a bad case of gas ever since she got home. She didn't eat anything weird, so I wonder if the Cerenia is helping her to eh, get things moving a bit better. That would be good (although bad for those standing around her).

    Sick Bengal -- please read

UPDATE: Well, Sophia earlier this week did start vomiting a decent amount (a white, foamy substance..she did manage to keep her food down) mid-week. I took her back to the vet and he said since he had nothing to go off the first time (she seemed fine other than her fever in the vet...

Gotcha. Maybe I'll pick up some pill pockets as well just to see if those work.

    Sick Bengal -- please read

Well, I have crushed up a pill inside some wet canned food for her and she ate that yesterday so I'm going to try that again today. Does the liquid form have any taste/smell? Because if it doesn't, then I'm sure I could put that on food and she'd eat it no problem.

    Sick Bengal -- please read

Interesting. I'll have to ask about that. I know the shots that she got from my old vet last time around were just an anti-inflammatory and an anti-nausea shot, but it made her feel so much better.
