    Is there a "DogSite"?

It seems like it might pick up a bit in the winter, which would go against the summer grass argument. My vet mentioned sometimes foods and treats that are multi-colored can aggravate allergies, and since we've stopped the crap food (that she loved), I truly am seeing improvement.

    Is there a "DogSite"?

I have thought of doing that many times - along with diet change, that may help. We've no real idea if it's diet or environmental allergy making her lick the paws.

    Is there a "DogSite"?

Thank you! I will check out the site.. You are SPOT ON with chow and golden, and there was beagle, with mixed companion, terrier and herding (which was NO surprise, the way she always chased the cats, lol) You have a beautiful puppy, too!

    Is there a "DogSite"?

Oh, I wish I knew her breed. Even after doing a doggy DNA test years ago, I'm still unsure! 🙂 She's currently been switched to Pro Plan, which is marginally affordable. Apoquel, on the other hand, is not. I haven't seen her chewing much, if at all, lately.

    Is there a "DogSite"?

Hi. I've been here nearly 15 years - asking questions and getting answers about my many kitties. (I'm a cat person) But I also have a doggy - and have questions, particularly about nutrition and how to hopefully get her off apoquel for paw licking. Does anyone know of a good place to ask...

She was the reason I joined this site

In October, 2008 I found this site when searching for help. I had brought in a feral tortie, originally named Autumn, later aptly named Scaredy Cat, after a couple weeks of feeding her outside, and gaining her confidence. Apparently I introduced her to my two indoor/outdoor neutered boys too...

    Grieving cat, need ideas fast

Thank you! ❤ Yesterday, her congestion was better - though not entirely gone - but she must've been well enough to smell, because she ate a good bit of wet food. She ate again today. She is still stopped up, but much more on the mend. Poor thing, I'm sure this is the first URI she's ever...

    Grieving cat, need ideas fast

Yes, that is the med, and it is working (or something is)! Yesterday she was still a bit congested, but nothing like the day before, and was eating well, I'm guessing because she could smell better. Vet discontinued Prozac. We have a long way to go to get her weight back to normal, but she...

    Grieving cat, need ideas fast

Thank you. 🙂 I read the article, and it gave me a somewhat positive feeling that this cat can overcome this.

    Grieving cat, need ideas fast

I lost my Mom in November, after a long illness. She died at home, with my Dad being her primary caretaker. My parents have two cats, and Dizzle, 9 year old spayed female, was closest to Mom. In the month since Mom died, Dizzle has gone from a playful, rather rotund, friendly cat to a...

    My kitty is sick

Wow, @lilnana- I am stressed both for you and your kitty reading this. You are getting some really great advice here - thank God for these knowledgeable cat lovers. In July 2000 I lost my Orfie, I am certain what finally did him in was fatty liver. I'm sure it was known about then, but my vet...

    So Many Changes...

Scaredy has always been a "hider", but since the doggie arrived she avoids the living room. It makes me sad. The dog is actually afraid of her, but Scaredy still won't venture in. She's also underwhelmed by the appearance of the kitten. She's just a loner.

Post pics of calicos, tortieshells and orange cats here!

Scaredy Cat, aptly named, as she was a former semi-feral, and is afraid of everything. She's full of tortie-tude, and beautiful, although in this pic her fur wasn't looking great, as she was in beginning stage of hyperthyroidism, and hadn't been diagnosed yet.

    Black Cats Only

This is Bug. She and her sisters were taped in a box, and left on the side of the road. A lovely person rescued them, and we adopted her. I may be cheating by posting her pic on the black kitty thread, because she might end up being black-brown.

    So Many Changes...

Once, I was threecatowner (although everyone knows cats own us). There was Dusty (tuxedo), Mickey (tabby) and Scaredy (tortie). Dusty developed a sarcoma in 2015 and I lost him in September, 2016 at 16. Six months later, Mickey (the love of my life) was diagnosed with heart disease. He did...

    Hcm And Flea Meds

I will never know the answer, but will always suspect I should NOT have given Mickey the Revolution. My kitty passed away -alone, like I think he wanted it, during the night. He would have been 13 at the end of this month. My heart is broken. I am now Onecatowner.

    Hcm And Flea Meds

So, I'm going to ask again, if anyone has used Revolution - or any flea med - on a cat with heart failure. Mickey was doing just okay three weeks ago when he had kidney panel, and vet gave the ok for the flea med. Since I gave it to him, I have watched him go downhill day by day. Also during...

    Hcm And Flea Meds

Well, the vet says since he is maintaining well with his meds, Revolution will be fine. Thanks for your kind response, pushylady... ☺

    Hcm And Flea Meds

Nobody has a cat with heart failure - and fleas? Am I asking this question in the wrong forum?

    Hcm And Flea Meds

Mickey is going on 13, and was diagnosed with hcm in March. He's medicated, which is a challenge since he won't take pill pockets anymore, but he's okay. At last vet check kidneys were fine. He needs a flea med, as he does spend some time in the yard and porch, and I use Revolution normally...
