I really feel like I have landed on my feet (just like a kitty!) We adopted this mum and her son almost 2 weeks ago now. They are just the best. The mum is cuddly, so well trained with litter and using a scratching post instead of the furniture, and just generally has the sweetest temperament...
Hey guys. I appreciate the replies. I've been pretty busy! I think I had built things up in my mind, whereas in reality it is going great. My two new kitties are really happy in the sitting room. They are brilliant with the litter and are eating well. They are very playful.
The older cat is...
Hi all
This time last week I would not have expected to be in this situation!
I adopted a cat and her kitten from a local rescue - I agreed a pick up of yesterday after we went through everything on Friday. However on Friday evening my poor elderly neighbours were taken to hospital and their...
I realised today I didn't post a picture of my beautiful Harry. Today felt easier and I was able to talk about him to my partner - I didn't even want to mention him up until now for fear of falling apart. I also felt more used to him not being in the house. He is totally irreplaceable but it...
I am so sorry for your loss. Your cat sounded fabulous. Harry was on my lap every night and also like to lie on my chest and nuzzle into my neck - he was such a cuddly boy.
Thank you. His name was Harry. He was always so patient with the kids even though he was there before them. I know time will help, I'm just finding his loss tougher than I expected.
Hi. I haven't posted on this site in years but I thought of this community in my grief. My boy who would have been 16 in April had to be put to sleep on Tuesday. I am in so much pain; I never thought it would be this hard. All I want to do is lie down and cry, but I have to stay strong for my...
Thanks everyone. He actually runs away from anyone else who comes into the house; it's only me and sometimes my husband that he is affectionate towards!
I laughed when I read this; I'm not sleeping too well so I'm probably over-analysing everything at the moment and imagining plenty of...
Thanks for the replies. I'm definitely going to make sure I give him as much attention as I can; I'm more worried about him jumping up on me when I'm nursing though. Bar pushing him off my lap, is there any way of discouraging this?
Hi folks
I just wanted to ask for some advice on how to make the big adjustment when I have my first baby in (hopefully) 2 months.
Harry is a spoiled cat; I'll be the first to admit that. He has been my only baby for quite a while. He is extremely attention seeking; as soon as I come in the...
Thanks for your reply. The vet just said that putting him on steroids would mean his appetite would increase a lot, so she offered this as an alternative. No mention of side effects!
I'll drop down today and speak to whoever is on duty.
My cat was put on Ovarid for a skin condition and while it looks to be clearing up, his appetite has gone through the roof and he is constantly crying and annoying me looking for food.
I've also noticed that the weird white skin part in his eye (that usually I'll only see if he's half asleep)...
Thanks for your replies everyone. I was away over the weekend so didn't have internet access.
Well the vet couldn't find anything wrong so thinks it was just a sprain. He is one anti-inflammatories and antibiotics just in case. The poor thing is very bored as we're supposed to keep him pretty...
Harry came in 2 days ago unable to put any weight through his left front paw. I brought him to the vets that evening (it's just a small walk-in clinic; the main clinic is 20 miles away). She couldn't really assess him properly as he kept trying to bite her. She seemed a bit inexperienced to be...
