Thanks Lynda,
But you are talking too much work: Rather spend $$ on a good cleaner, that requires minimal effort. But you piqued my curiosity, and sure enough, the 2nd ingredient after my favorite cleaner is: H2O2, preceded by purified water.
Now you have thinking: The 2 products are I...
Good news: Oxy Solution, by Simple Solution, does a stellar job on these stains, as well as diarrhea. Have light gray carpet, and there is visual or odor evidence of the accidents.
Bad news: Cannot find it anywhere, including the company's website ... and I'm starting to run low. E-mailed...
An idea, but it means putting something heavy on my nice kitchen floor, to attach the velcro to. Might be my last resort. Has the advantage of being able to remove the water bowl for cleaning.
One of my Ragamuffin kittens has manage to defeat every type of water dispenser that I put out. This includes the:
Pioneer Pet Raindrop Stainless Steel Pet Drinking Fountain
Petmate Replendish Gravity Waterer w/ Microban
various water bowls
He grabs part of it w. his mouth, and pulls it...

Chewy.com has 31 varieties listed for adult cats: Which one is best for Ragamuffins?
Mine are still kittens, getting both Hills Science Diet canned & Royal Canin dry. But I'm planning ahead.

What brand of plastic bag are you using? What size?
So tabbytom, instead dumping the litter box into a single plastic bag, you are splitting it into multiple bags? How many lbs / gallons per bag?
Using the canned boxes is smart, because they are strong enough to hold the weight. But they are also open, so if you trip on the stairs, mess time.
Have a Nature's Miracle triangular-shaped box, and fully dumping it was a pain because of the weight of the litter:
Line a 5 gallon pail w. a large plastic bag.
Pick up the litter box & dump the full contents into the plastic bag.
Tie up plastic bag & cap the pail.
Wipe down the litter box w...
