Throat Biting: Should I be concerned?

Thanks for your response. Both of these cats are recently fixed. Colby seemed to be exhibiting some "in heat" behaviors when she first got home. She was 7 months old at the time and had literally just been fixed. She has toned those behaviors down a bit. Cheddar is also fixed, and has been for...

Throat Biting: Should I be concerned?

My two kitties which were first introduced about a week ago have been inseparable. They play all day together with very minimal aggression. The older larger cat, Cheddar, is about twice the size of the smaller younger kitten, Colby. Cheddar has been a bit standoffish since we brought him home...

    Cat doesn't meow around me?

My cat, Cheddar, has a silent meow that he reserves for me. It's kinda cute.

Cheddar and Colby - FINALLY MEET!

Thank you for the responses. Today was their first day together completely in the open. These two are inseparable. It's like they've been friends for life. I am so excited they get along so well. The kitten, Colby, is following the older kitty, Cheddar, everywhere he goes. When she disappears...

    Hissing and Swatting.....

Not that this helps any, but it's always been my experience that - in general - children are not good with pets. Kids do not have the calm-assertive energy that adults do. Kids are not good at controlling their uneasiness or showing outright fear. My daughter is the same way. She is 14 and every...

cat using bed and couch as a bathroom

Wow, an update AFTER 10 YEARS! That is amazing. Glad to hear that Loki finally got some resolution with his condition. It seems that the lesson to be learned here is get a second opinion as early as possible.

Cheddar and Colby - FINALLY MEET!

Well, just about thirty minutes ago, Cheddar (our new 18-month old male) met Colby (our new 8-month old female). They met on the stairwell, which I had been estalishing as a sort of neutral ground. Cheddar has been with us for a month and Colby for two weeks now. He is significantly larger and...

Someone trying to usurp my cat!

Sounds like something out of a horror movie. There is a scratching at the door. The wind blows, the lightning crashes, the trees sway. You open the door. But no one is there. The lightning flashes one more time and THERE it is. Kitty. Looking at you, mastering that sweet innocent expression. A...

    Vets and raw

I've seen the same level of idiocy in medical (people) doctors. It's rampant. They will look at you like you are crazy for implying that you can prevent most diseases by just eating right, drinking water, exercising, and sleeping. But oooohhhh no, you need DRUGS to live better! Sorry for the...

Not sure this is in the right place...

Kitty needs medical attention. Sounds like it's gone on way too long without it. The expensive food may not have been necessary and the money saved could have paid for a vet. They are living breathing creatures that we choose to be guardians over. Our Christmas was very meager (as in...

    worrisome skiddish

I think he is just taking his time adjusting. At 5am this morning, he hopped up on my lap and begged me to pet him and I couldn't make him get down if I wanted to. :)

    Puzzling Behaviour

I loved the description. I could picture the little fella!

How do you like your steak cooked?

The main sticking point for me is temperature and safety. I will eat my beef in whatever condition guarantees that every portion of it has reached 160 degrees. I've just never felt comfortable that rare or medium-rare (or heaven forbid, "blue") would keep me from getting sick.

    Is it a 'mouse' problem...

Here is a link to describe how to get into Device Manager (the place where you update drivers) in Windows XP http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsxp/ht/accessdmcpnxp.htm Drivers are just small programs that allow our hardware (mouse, keyboard, etc) to "speak to" our operating system (Windows...
