Still waiting for the response!

Apparently the elderly owner of the home is in a nursing home, and the daughter has full atty. Waiting for them to get back to us.

I'm going to look at another one tomorrow. going to continue to look until everything is signed.

Glad to read the latest news, and that the elderly lady is alive and doing well.

Good to keep your options open .. It also helps to keep the mind off of things while waiting for news. Who knows, you might find something even better, it that's possible.

That's good to know!  Hearing about the presents sitting out  like that was just so sad.

It's good to keep looking.  It's so hard not to think with your emotions too much over these things!

The photos actually make the coop smaller than it really is. If I get it, I will be taking better photos!

The washer and dryer is shared with the people of the coops. I believe it's well maintained and cleaned often
I'd rather have my own.

thank you :D

I got a response from the agent (Via my dad who spoke to her). Apparently the daughter does not want to disclose any info about the unit, even though by law, she has to. My agent suggested we go in with a real low-ball offer and see what they say. We have to get an engineer regardless. The mother was living there for a year, so she should still have the papers from last year when they moved in. I doubt much was done in that time.

We're going to look at two more places tonight before deciding on placing a low-ball offer.

Draco, why do you need an engineer? (Just curious)
An engineer, or licensed inspector, will determine if the house is up to code, and any/all damages that will need to be fixed. He will jot down all he finds. Once that is done, we can either negotiate a more fair deal, or not sign the contract, based on what they find.

OK, thanks. I didn't realize an engineer could inspect a place for codes. That's interesting. I learned something today!

Hmm, if the daughter won't disclose, that makes me think there is something wrong.
We already know there is/was a leak in the ceiling. We already know the toilet doesn't work and we're OK with that. Makes me wonder what else is wrong.

Maybe forget that unit. Something stinks. I know you like it but something is wrong. Find another unit. You'll probably find something better nicer and a good price. My fingers are crossed so hurry up they're starting to hurt!

the broker spoke to my agent, and he's trying to get the info. We did put in an offer to this place I liked.

the other two I saw, were not much bigger than my apt. now. They were rejected

My agent said that unit is good as mine! The listing broker is going to find out a few things and depending on what he finds, they may want to negotiate which is fine- we did lowball the offer. Hopefully by the middle of the week it will be in contract!
