Aww, Mouse sounds cute.  My David and Lilly listen all day when I am not home (very softly in the background) classical music, from the local FM classical radio station here.  But they really do like the Dave Matthews Band, have been listening to their CD's all their lives with me.  They both come in the room when I am playing it semi-loudly (not too loud of course), and hop up on my lap (if I am not dancing lol) or they will lay at me feet right below the speaker.
Poor Mouse, you see if I were left to my own devices I'd be listening to Muse and Rianha and other generally bashy 'stuff' anything but quietly.  Even if I listen to nice classical stuff his ears rotate like they're in pain and he looks at me like I'm torturing him.
  But yeah, he is cute.

Can you believe it's possible to sprain your wrist by picking up a 1 year old.
Me neither, but I did.
I do!  Children are heavy and wriggle and squirm while you hold them!  And worst of all they want you to pick them up again and again and don't understand there can be any reason you can't do it.
Just as well children are usually cute.

Brrrr. l've finally had to break down and put the heating on (it's 14C / 57F today) Usually around here we go from running the AC every day, to running the heating all day within the matter of a fortnight. This year we've had a long run of very nice temps in the low 20sC  (low 70sF) so no AC or heat.

But when l wake up and have cats IN the bed rather than ON it, l figure it's time.
Snap - 14C here today too.  Was colder earlier this week, and was down to about 4C the other night.
Winter is comming and so are the bigger heating bills....

Why is it the shops are already full of Christmas 'stuff'?  It's like panic buying's already started and we're not even past Halloween.  I'm still using up the last of my summer holiday days!  Where has the year gone???

lt costs me waaaay more to cool my house all summer than it does to heat it all winter.

We're in the middle of a thunder/lightning storm as l type. The wind picked up so much it looked like it was snowing yellow leaves. Ugh, guess what l'll be doing once it's dried.

I am very happy not to have a garden.
Everyone seems to love gardening but I can't see what it is that gets people so enthused.
Apart from anything else, if you love cats what do you do if your cat sits on four favourite plant or chews off a precious flower just as it's about to bloom?  I'd be with the cat every time!
Gardens just seem to need attention the whole time, and what is it with needing to sweep up leaves?  Don't they rot down to feed the soil, and protect plants underneath from cold weather and frost damage?

Good morning. It's Sunday. I like to sleep in on Sunday but the cats do not like it when I sleep in!! My face was licked until I got up and fed them. Cleo knows I hate her licking my face.

I had a bad week! It started last weekend with a tooth ache and I went and got the tooth pulled on Monday. Then on Wednesday another tooth started hurting but only when I tried to recline so I really didn't sleep Wednesday night. Thursday I got that tooth pulled and now I'm sick.

They don't usually get into too much trouble. No one has ever landed on a candle. Mostly it's Peanut getting into something he can't get out of. Like laying on packaging tape or seeing if he can fit his whole body through the handles of a plastic bag. He can't. He can get partly through and then when he gave up the bag followed him, so he ran. He was easy to catch because the bag was like a big parachute slowing him down. He also managed to loose a claw when he pounced on a plastic bag. Fortunately I was on the phone with the vet when he did that. You know, I really need to keep him away from plastic bags.
When Eopie was much younger, she also tried to fit herself through the handles of a plastic bag.  She flew around the house a few times trying to get away from the bag, with no luck.  After the second pass around the house, she hid under the dining room table, cowering.  It was the funniest thing I've ever seen, and I couldn't help but laugh, even though she was terrified.  (I felt sooooo bad for laughing at her).

And you would think she learned her lesson, but she LOVES plastic bags.  Sometimes when we come home from the store, she will find the plastic bags before we have a chance to put them away, and she'll make a little nest out of one.  She loves sleeping on them!  I don't understand it at all!

This is my aftermath. l wonder if anyone would notice if l swept it all onto the road.
I looked at the picture then read your comment - I thought you already had!
Look on the bright side, the tree in the picture now looks lovely and green, if you brush the leaves onto the road and over in front of your neighbour's house you could look out front and think it's summer!   And the car looks nice and clean too, mine always seems to end up with leaves stuck to it like army camouflage when we get weather like that at this time of year.

It's amazing how something so simple like a baked sweet potato with butter can make me happy. Throw on a movie, a blanket, and a couple of cats and I'm in a great place.

Exactly

l have Tanner on my lap at the minute, he's the one who likes to give my leg a one-handed knead with claws, so l'm gritting my teeth and hoping the cats play musical laps soon.

Oh yes. One of my favorite foods is baked sweet potato. If you want something really sinful to eat, bake the potatoes, slice them, put some real butter pats on top, sprinkle with brown sugar and then drizzle honey on top. Bake until very warm. Enjoy.
It has been a great Saturday at my house. I am having some friends for a steak meal after church tomorrow. The menu is T-bones, baked potato, garlic bread, salad. For dessert, gluten free banana pudding with Cool Whip. Or choice of vanilla, chocolate, or coffee flavor ice cream. It will be delicious. My husband cooks a really good steak on the grill. Tonight I will sprinkle the steaks with garlic pepper, wrap them in saran wrap on a platter and they will marinate in that until time to cook them.

Everyone have a great night and rest of the weekend.

Blueyegirl that sounds super yummy. I'm having guests for dinner tonight too. My guests are family and I'm going to be busy in the garden again today so they are getting slap- dash!!!! They would much prefer your menu. I'll send them around. The more the merrier right?!!

So I'm at my second job, and it's really slow at the moment, and sadly I've lost the book I was reading, so I thought I'd hop on for a quick babble.
I can tell you that I'm trying to work a trip to the market into my schedule - you guys have given me some great ideas for sweet potatoes!

At a girl scout event with my daughter. The haunted walk through the woods sounded fun but I think I tripped on every brach there was. Probably should have brought a flashlight.

DH and I took the kids to a fall fest at a local farm/orchard.  We picked apples and pumpkins before going through the fall fest activities.  They really have A LOT.  A huge slide, large and mini corn mazes, a corn pit the kids can jump into like a ball or sand pit, a water pump game where you pump water to race rubber ducks, a tunnel made of corn stalks, pumpkin painting, face painting, pony rides, a little "petting zoo". zip lines, a barrel train....  Oh and much much more.  But the best part: APPLE CIDER SLUSHIES AND APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS THAT WERE STILL WARM!!!  Oh and 2 exhausted children who will seep very well tonight even though one is at Grandma's house for the night!

I seriously dislike that is starts getting dark so early at this time of year. Right now it's dark around 7 pm, in December it will be 5:30. It makes me feel weird when it gets dark so early and if I happen to go out in the early evening I feel like it's really late and all the stores and whatnot should be closed for the night.

Enjoyed watching the kitties ran and play tumbling games in the garden. The grass is a bit damp so they're in for some towel rubbing from me. Afterwards they'll be grooming themselves for hours.

That sweet potatoe recipe sounds so interesting! I think I definitely have a go at it myself. Yum!

Went to a craft show today. It was really neat, plenty of interesting and different items - lot's of rich colours, themes and scents.
